Meanwhile we get people posting about planning to shoot up schools/churches/etc and the FBI don't do crap until after kids are dead. But at least they were aware of the threats and monitoring.

I guess you dont know what incrementalism means. Slippery slope? Do you think speech is more or less free in the USA than it was prior to 2008? There are politicos literally calling for jailing people for opinions in this country.

Unfortunately, most of Europe seems to be trending in the same direction as Britain.

Your people certainly do keep trying. On Reddit your people are crying about banned books (bc some of us don’t want kids exposed to your depravity) and fantasizing that the Christian right is still a thing with the power to ban dancing in a town.

Meanwhile, your people are working hard to put government hands around the necks of people for “misinformation”. Y’all even tried to set up a Ministry of Truth. I know your media comrades memory-holed that farce.

So at worst she was wrong, even if it was a great guess considering context. It’s not like Britain isn’t full of Muslims who like to stab. Still not worthy of 2.5 years in prison. Not surprising you agree with the sentence though.

At any time before this was there ever what amounted to a "Ministry of Truth"? They tried that.

Has there ever been rhetoric about wanting to limit what people can say in social media? There has been recently.

Has a current administration ever actively worked with social media platforms to censor individual voices in social media? This administration has.

Has it ever been suggested that freedom of speech is dangerous? Many on the left now believe it, an opinion piece from March of 2022 in the NYT was titled: "America Has a Free Speech Problem". You can find many more examples.

I was coming to say the same to his comment. Europe as a whole has gone off the deep end, or at least the laws are being utilized to further control them. Remember our Bill of Rights was formed due in part to the laws in that part of the world that led to many of the colonizers to either be sent here or to run here.

Notice the wording....

They spoke to the brutal slaying of innocent children as a "tragedy", like you would a plane crash. And completely dismiss the division such an act itself causes, and the hatred one must feel to slice apart children.

There is truly something sick and broken in this world, and that cancer is spreading.

all you have to do is paint your opponent or someone you don't agree with as a radical, dangerous, extreme, etc. And anyone who votes or supports your opponent, also is radical, dangerous, extreme, etc.

So you mean like calling someone a "fascist", "literally Hitler", "extreme" and "a threat to democracy?" Hyperbole like that?

That clip should terrify everyone. But for many, it's their person so they love it and cannot play this out to see what kind of world that creates or what happens should "the other side" get in and return the favor. Banana republic type shite.
