My understanding is that she doesn't have an infantry background. Non infantry background and no tab means she shouldn't be in charge of an infantry division regardless of sex

It's the National Guard. It isn't like she is commanding the Big Red One
I'm sure the CA guard doesn't have that many Generals to choose from.

This logic I could at least agree with. Unfortunately, there’s plenty of men who have risen in the ranks not due to experience but instead due to who they know who don’t really have any business commanding units either.
The OP tells it like men in the military have never been commanded by another man of less experience. And that this is something exclusive to women. It’s hilarious as best.
