Word. Bet an OT2 turns to an OT8 pretty quick when you don't have access to the real world.

Overall I agree that co-ed units are problematic. However, 100% excluding all females from service would be dumb and a manpower mistake.
Why would it be dumb other than from a manpower standpoint which I don’t necessarily agree with in the first place.

Navy OT2's look a hell of a lot better than the local population in Groton, CT. But I only sought after OT5+
We called the local chicks, "Grota-potumuses"

I wonder if she’s related to Chuck Yeager?
If so, it's by marriage. Yeager is her husband's name. I'm guessing no relation, otherwise it would have been mentioned.
She also has four kids, so apparently completely heterosexual.
BTW it's a national guard division. Its units have been deployed in the WOT but the only way it would deploy as a division is in a real SHTF situation like WWII. So this is essentially an administrative command.

I agree women should not be in the infantry but excluding them from all other combat roles is ignorant.
Does anyone ever actually stop and think about the logical extension of this? "Sally, you want to fly Apaches? That's great! You report to Ft. Rucker tomorrow. Bill, grab your e-tool and go dig a home in the mud." No potential for massive morale problems there.
If women can't hack it in the truly down and dirty, physically demanding jobs; why should they be allowed to do the others?

Are Sally and Bill equally qualified to be a pilot? Then no, it isn't fair to accept one over the other using gender as the deciding factor.
My solution would be that you accept both. Most training commands have a high attrition rate. If both meet the requirements, both should get in

Because there are quite a few talented females in the military.

You gotta have people bro... you can have the deadliest fighting force on earth but if you don't have an adequate supply line, you're shite.

If Sally can fly the damn thing or put rockets on target, I don't give a shite who is flying it. All I care about is putting accurate fire on target when my arse is in a sling.

No fricking shite dude, that’s why I said other than from a manpower standpoint.
In any case, how did we ever get supplied before all these talented women joined up?

Well, when females get to do all the fun, sexy jobs - who wouldn't want to fly Apaches? Or F22s in the Air Force - that means those jobs are going to be completely overrepresented by females. Which means equally qualified males will be pushed into the grunt MOSs. After 10-20 years of that, you don't think recruiting of males will be affected?

Alright, well how’s this for anecdotal evidence? When I was going through SOI for the USMC, we had females training alongside us. There were around 15 of them that started. Not a single one finished the school. They were the biggest hinderance to our training. None passed a single hike, non could shoot a fricking thing, none finished a PFT or a CFT. But that’s beside the point as we all agree women are useless in combat.
Of the 15 one got engaged, three got pregnant, two got in trouble hopping in carfuls of NCOs from Camp Lejeune. In general, we spent a ridiculous amount of time dealing with shite that would not have happened had women not been there in the first place. You don’t think shite like this goes on in every coed unit across the military? And you’re fine with it?
Here’s another example. When I first got to my unit, we had a female gunnery sergeant supply chief who was married. We had a male major ops chief who was also married. And wouldn’t you know it? The two ended up hooking up and he got her pregnant. They both were forced to retire and could’ve gotten in a shitload more trouble had the USMC wanted to go after them.

And SOI is a joke. I went through in 03 and the longest hump was only 20k.
Posted on 6/18/19 at 12:53 pm to TigerFanInSouthland
She's not serving in a combat arms MOS so it's not a problem.

That’s what it was when I was there too.

I guess she was useless:
quote:
Army Spc. Monica Lin Brown saved the lives of fellow soldiers after a roadside bomb tore through a convoy of Humvees in the eastern Paktia province in April 2007, the military said. After the explosion, which wounded five soldiers in her unit, Brown ran through insurgent gunfire and used her body to shield wounded comrades as mortars fell less than 100 yards away, the military said.

Now that’s what I call anecdote.

I mean, I always knew you dogfaces were legit dumb as a fricking rock and generally less lethal than the USMC in battle but dang, I didn’t think all y’all had been vowed to such an extent.
Dude, stfu. You were a jr enlisted reservist who never went anywhere and never did a damned thing but you always have some shite to say about the army like you know something.

That's what I figured. Boot camp was the pinnacle of your fricking career. Stop trying to bathe in the reflected glory of Marines that didn't spend their entire enlistments sitting at home on the internet.
Good day, sir.
