Ben repeatedly admitted on his videos that he absconded and is avoiding personal service.
The judge can permit alternative service if: (1) the purported defendant absconds and avoids service, and (2) the alternative service will provide notice. Thus, the Court permitted the Plaintiff to serve Ben by email.

I was just about to come here and post this own, it’s amazing what one can find out when you step back and look at the numbers. Great video and while it certainly paints the original owners as dolts, it also does no favors for corporate and I do think that they took some of those legos, just not $100K worth. Only $20-$25K worth

The one saving grace was the woman was on camera telling them about the Star wars Legos as they were taking over the store.
So them pretending they didn't know and trying to throw them under the bus just makes them look worse.

look how easy it was to get to the bottom of this in just one sit down interview with coffezilla, and normal corporate business would have taken an hour to figure out the truth and do things right by a customer
instead the McNeffs and BAM are clearly extremely shady business operators either way…then the abuse of law enforcement takes it all to another level

If McDonald’s takes over a franchise, the Taylor company doesn’t go after corporate to recover the unpaid ice cream machine…they get in line with the franchisee’s other creditors.
This minifig drama is no different. It just has a YouTuber adding reality TV drama for social media clout.

They previously said none of the Legos were in the store. That was clearly a lie.
And the U haul truck that wasn't in Ben's piece. The brother CEO sat there and lied about the U haul truck not being there the night of the take over.
The two McNeffs can't get out of their own way. They keep making it worse.

That's kinda how I feel about it.
An injustice probably occurred, but could be righted for a relatively low cost that no one seems to want to pay lol. Instead we've gone the social media route where some kid, intentionally or not, facilitated this absurd circus for social media clout.
He said it himself in one of his recent videos. Getting a lawyer involved from the beginning wouldn't have resulted in content, so that was a non-starter.
