Getting a lawyer involved would have resulted in BAM burying them in legal costs more than the collection was worth.

Drawing attention to the story has likely given Brian et all the war chest of money and potential lawyers to fight it.

I guarantee they consulted lawyers and none believed there was a case, and were subsequently advised their best option was social media sympathy.

Unfortunately, the social media route they chose will only financially benefit their chosen influencer.

Talk is cheap. Sue them correctly with a competent attorney and they are going to make damn sure it's handled swiftly.

Not sure about utah, but typically if a party offers to settle for a sum that is rejected, and the award is greater than that sum at trial, the rejecting party would be on the hook for legal fees and expenses.

It's easy to say "we'll run up the tab on you". Lot different when you're actually stroking monthly checks to the litigating attorney handling the case.

It’s always glossed over, but I don’t think they really did a legit inventory, and that’s a game killer for a fungible collectible.

I also don’t think the collection was worth a fraction of $200k. I have a storage area with hundreds of sealed Lego Star Wars sets. At best it’s worth $20k. This one screams of a collector that cleaned out clearance sales and hoarded dozens of sets anytime they hit clearance…That’s a PITA to sell under the best the scenario, and requires. Hundreds or thousands of sets to unload.

I can also assure you anyone with a $200k collection has unique pieces that sell themselves and are so expensive they’d just collect dust in an BAM store.

Watching the coffeezilla vid and the Gormans are sketchy as frick.

I like the dude who constantly interjects with a "nuh uh" or "that's not true at all" only for Chrystal to be like "hold up you don't actually know what you're talking about"

A pretty tell tale sign someone is completely BSing is given some ridiculously long and verbose answer to a simple question.

McNeff does it with the ridiculously long story about the Uhaul that they previously vehemently denied existed.

Chrystal does it when she spends an extraordinary amount of time to say "I can't give you an explanation" when asked about the POS data and discrepancies.

You’re underestimating or you just have a bunch of newer common sets

Chrysta’s irresponsibility and record keeping (as well as the Lego owners lack of records) created this entire mess. BAM on the other hand straight up lies when they talk about the sets that were in the store but can now not be located. Sure, it wasn’t $100k worth of legos, it’s still 20-25K worth of legos and they are missing. That story of the U-Haul is absolute bullshite as well.

LEGO owner - shite for records and irresponsible with their own collection.

Chrystal - piss poor business owner with multiple spreadsheet records that are not up to date and she admits doesn’t look at the them for months

BAM corporate - shady as frick corporate owners that look to take advantage anywhere they can and likely took the missing legos then caused a shite storm when Ben showed up asking questions.

Morman Mafia - I love Utah but dang the Mormans are a mess and BAM was 100% using those connections to hide.

Catching up on this thread and see the video Stout posted from a townhall in American Fork. Is what he said factual? He claimed they swatted the house that Ben was in without a warrant, is that true?

There was a warrant but all indications are it was bullshite.

They were looking for stolen legos based off the AirBnB owner stating he overheard Ben’s crew talking about them. Despite the cops knowing that they were out there specifically because of the Lego sets they accused BAM of stealing.

I looked up some of the sets from the photos in Coffezilla's video and they aren't that old

They are all from around 2014 and 2015. The cheapest one was selling for $150 on eBay.

That being said, it doesn't take long for some Lego sets to go up in value. There is a guy whose whole business model is to mass buy sets and hold onto them for a year or two and then sell them when they are discontinued.

He isn't just buying any and everything and is selective which sets he thinks will go up in value, so I can see a 10+ year old collection doubling in value at the very least but everyone admits the $200K was a marketing number. Even Bryan

Coffeezilla did a pretty good accounting of it and it was still over $100K with about $80K unaccounted for.

How is that probable cause? If there is no police report of stolen legos, its a bullshite fishing attempt.

Going to be funny when Ben sues the city of American Fork and wins hand over fist for civil rights violations.

I don’t know how it was PC but they fed a judge this load of horseshite and got their warrant then SWAT raided the residence and turned up nothing, yet still arrested everyone.

Right? Because, technically, 1/100, 99/100 and 110/100 (and all numbers in between) are all fractions...

All three of the BAM people referenced are part of the LDS. The judge and police in Utah are all a part of the LDS. BAM gives a lot of money to the LDS. We see different large entities that protect one another and try and hide wrongdoing by working outside of the bounds the law to do so. It's not that crazy that the Mormons would play differently to protect one of their own.

They held a town meeting where residents chewed up the city council over the upcoming lawsuit settlement that they, as taxpayers, will have to pay

I'd like to know of any connection between the AirBnB owner and the BAM owners. I'd also like to see and hear the actual police call that lead to the raid along with the real identity of the person who reported it.

I wouldn't put it past these shitbirds to call and act like they are the AirBnB owners, which would be a false report — among other charges.

Josh is already on record saying he would accuse Ben of stealing the legos and pushing hard to find "anything" to arrest him on. You can throw in the false statements that Josh made saying that Ben and crew threatened to murder the manager and all that bullshite.
