re: Breaking up a fight is just not as fun at 46 as it was at 22.

With that said, I'll break up a million boy fights over breaking up girls.
When I worked a SO deputy back in the 90’s I would rather fight 10 hood rats than one drunk black chick. I had one hide a razor blade under her tongue and tried to slice me up like a sushi chef. I almost shot that bitch.

Probably. Restraining someone without hurting them is a lot harder than just putting them down, but, yeah, I am out of shape (6'2" 205). I need to drop about twenty.

They put one in every school after one of the shootings here
Every public school, some private schools don’t have them

We didn’t even think of doing shite like that in high school.
If someone would have been so inclined to try our coaches would have beat them to death.

Our coaches let us fight it out then made us run for the rest of the day

Be careful talking on here never know when they will try to sue you. Anytime there is a minor involved this risk is very very high.

I broke up a black girl fight last semester and had to call for backup because they wouldn't stop fighting. I smelled like cocoa butter for a week

Yep, nothing like doing a Rear Naked Choke on a teenager and then getting the impending lawsuit.

Way back when had a high school football coach, who was also a part time sheriff deputy, who would jump right in the middle of a high schooler throw down.
He would go straight for an ear hold on both fighters. He had exceptional accuracy grabbing ears. He'd have each hand with an ear and would twist those ears until each fighter submitted. Which was usually within seconds from the pain. Then with a ear death grip in place he would begin perp walking them to the principles office.

I’ve been in high school public education for 26 years, and have never been instructed how to handle a fight.
This is intentional so the school can hold the teachers liable no matter what. You physically restrain a student and someone gets hurt or parents complain and the teacher can be fired.
You stand aside and don’t physically intervene and one of the kids gets hurt or the parents complain and the teacher can be fired.

Our coaches had a coat rack in their office. It’s where they hung their paddles.
The AP rolled in a wheelchair. Always packing his paddle in his chair at his hip. He would roll up to a classroom silently and observe. Then dole out whacks.
He lived across the bayou from me. We used to go fishing together. He mentored me and I could tell a shite load of good stories about him.
I was honored to be a pall bearer for him after he died of a stroke during my Senior year. RIP Mr Steve Kenney.

Let them fight until they get tired. And girls latch on to each other. Its the craziest thing to see.
