Breaking up a fight is just not as fun at 46 as it was at 22.

Little 15 year old bastards are strong. The AP and I were huffing, puffing, and filling out medical leave (kidding). Once you get a good bear hug in, they usually stop fighting. This one (our QB, of course), fought me all of the way to the office. Had to get old man strong on him. When I was younger, my impulse would have been to take him down to the ground. Can't do that kind of stuff nowadays.

With that said, I'll break up a million boy fights over breaking up girls. They are mean. Nails and weave whipping everywhere.

Let the school resource officer handle it.

I hated breaking up girl fights. In the old days, if a kid swung at you, you could knock them out, As previous posts have indicated, the fear of being sued and age makes me less likely to break up a fight. I am now more, "let me know when you're finished and we will go to the office!". Usually the deputies get there pretty quick so they can hit somebody.

Reminds me of the article someone posted a while back about how stressed and disrespected female educators are. The reason I was there to break up the fight is because male teachers are always given duty at the more volatile posts. Bouncer is part of the job description.

Yeah, CoVID (isolation, not the virus) knocked me down a peg. I competed in judo in college. I've taken down a few high schoolers with a well executed O Goshi, but you just can't do that anymore.

If they aren’t paying you for it, wouldn’t be for me. If they wanted you to break up focus you’d have a baton. Taser and pepper spray

Are you in Lafayette? Doesn’t every school in the parish have an SRO?

Especially since the school will immediately throw you straight under the bus and provide zero support to anyone but the dindu student "victim" if anything happened.
