The City of New Orleans officially announced it will extend the hours for the citywide sale of alcohol as part of the modified Phase Three guidelines and restrictions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting Friday at 6 p.m., service and sales of alcoholic beverages at bars, restaurants and other venues shall only occur between the hours of 6 a.m. and 1 a.m., extending from the previous time of 11 p.m, according to the city's news release.

"Service and sales of alcoholic beverages, whether for consumption on or off premises, and including packaged alcohol sales, shall only occur between the hours of 6 a.m. and 1 a.m. in the entertainment district. This includes the French Quarter and Central Business District, which shall be defined to include all areas bounded by the Mississippi River, the center line of Esplanade Avenue, the center line of Rampart Street, and the center line of Common Street," according to the city's updated guidance.

Oh what the hell is the point of this crap? These folks have serious brain damage of some kind when deciding random stuff like this.

Make sure you're still wearing your mask from the door to the bar though. Covid is sneaky and can attack you from around the corner. You're safe once you're seated at the bar though.

There are more black owned bars outside of the so-called "Entertainment District" than inside.

She always remains silent whenever there’s a gun battle that occurs in the Quarter, with the usual suspects as the perps.

The frick.

Uptown and MidCity bars have to file something in Court right? There is simply no justification for this whatsoever. It is borderline evil.

Tracey's doesn't give a frick, I guarantee they will have something filed today or Monday.

Those bars don’t have to follow the rules.

Congrats on doing something Texas did, an hour later, like a 6 months ago.

Typically you'd be 3 or 4 years behind so this is big for your city

Is it really just that area or does it include that area?

It's worded weird if it's just that area. Seems like they would've said "limited to", not "includes", if it was only allowed there.
