I’m amazed they bother to get around to picking any up the way I hear complaints about their BR service.

and they beat the frick out of the cans. mine ends up in front of the neighbor's house most of the time. have had to have it replaced several times.

I would imagine that most of the alleged drug addicts in BR, homeless or not, would be opiates or crack lol not sure where this meth addict stuff is coming from but I'd think the litter is a combination of many subsets of people baw. But La as a whole has a litter problem so its hard to really put blame on one specific set of people.
Edit: @ the garbage and waste management posts. Yeh that seems like a big contributor, I see trash trucks with shite flying out all the time. Not just trash sometimes they leak what looks like old milk and liquid. gross.

I think we would have seen pictures on the OT if the General Lee paint job pickup truck carrying a flatbed with a portapotty on it made it into BR.

Cigarette smokers add a percentage to the littering. But 100% of them are lazy fricks. People who can't just leave the shite in their vehicle until they get home where they can just take it to the trash can.
Even if people are homeless. Homelessness isn't an excuse to liter.
This was years ago, but one time on Airline I saw a dude throw out his spit cup. He was in front of me at a red light. As he was slowing down for the red light he just held his hand out the window and dropped the cup.. I say it was his spit cup, I don't know for sure, but it looked as if it had a paper towel in it and it was brownish inside.. If I remember correctly. Either way, the point is, it was done so casual.
And at some point I would imagine someone will have to pick that shite up. Its sad that it would even have to come down to this, but the state really should do a campaign on not littering. At least put it in people's heads so that they wouldn't be so casual and maybe think a second or two before throwing shite out.

You missed the entire 80s and 90s when they had Keep Louisiana Beautiful and other littering campaigns?

Now that you mention it, it sounds familiar, but I was a teenager during the 90s so I probably just didn't pay attention.

The parish I live in, there is a section of it where it used to be a bunch of trailers along a highway that were old. People didn't take care of anything, it was just nasty. Me saying it is nasty doesn't really describe how bad it was.. Anyway, when the parish went to a parish president and one was elected.. Mike Foster's wife called the parish president up.
Evidently he thought she was calling to congratulate him... Instead she told him that awhile back they were riding their bikes through the parish and passed by that area and told him if he does anything, she hopes he gets that eye sore cleaned up...
But yeah, some people are just nasty.

I see lots of Swisher Sweets boxes, 40s and deuce-deuce cans, and chicken boxes.

Edit: and I'm being 100% serious in the first sentence, and referring to what I see on my runs around Emory University. It's a really pretty campus and they keep it clean, but there are apparently corners where they congregate and litter. Bizarre really.

Interesting fact. The Indian in the litter commercial posted above is iron eyes Cody from gueydan la. He was 100% Italian.
