America, from a general proposition, has gotten so fat, ugly and repulsive (from the inside out), I don't even recognize it as the nation of my youth.

truth

I was watching random videos from the early 80s last night and it reminded me how different of a world that existed at the time.

It is shocking what has occurred to this country over 40 years time. Looks like humanity was replaced by mindless blobs.

Disney raises their prices constantly. It’s ridiculously expensive to go there but people still go. They will spend their life savings just to go sit in amusement park in 100+ degree heat. Never understood it. So many other places to go in the world.

Tax refunds

Is it really a refund if you didn't pay taxes?

Disney World would be better off if they put their focus more on preventing Spirit Airlines flights into MCO than grooming children.

it's kind of funny how the OT glamorizes suburbs. outside of the extremely expensive ones, they're full of fat broke slobs. the only real difference is lack of violent crime (admittedly a pretty big deal).
It's the main reason. There are slobs in the cities as well. Why not tolerate slobs in a low crime environment with a little more space and fewer sirens going by?

How are people getting refunds? I went from getting a few thousand to owing this year and nothing really changed.

The low end women I used to work with would get earned income credits or something like that for each child they had.

Looks like a few of them would each need two scooters...one for each butt cheek!

On paper, yes. The line says "This is your refund".

I reality, no; it's wealth transfer.

They get a tax break for each child, can get a tax break for child care expenses (day care and stuff), and the Earned Income credit (which is based on reported income). The first two, any tax payer with children may get, but there are limits. The EIC has a maximum qualifying income based on 0,1,2,or 3+ children. The more children and the less reported income, the higher the credit. For example, someone who earned $20k with 2 children and assuming they had no other income besides wages would get $6194 as a credit for the 2022 tax year. The standard deduction is $13k then roughly $2k per child nets a taxable income of $3k. Tax liability is $300. Assuming they opted to not have any tax taken out over the year, they would get a "refund" of $5,864. That can't be counted as income for federal funded benefits.

Thank you for that!

People are amazingly stupid. Why on earth would anyone want to fight at an amusement park like that when you are all spending so much money on crap.

I can only chuckle at this shite!

If you do much people watching especially at a place like Disney World it’s really not hard to come to that conclusion.

That and smoking calms the nerves and eases anxiety. Maybe if we smoked again there would be less fights
