People have to learn the hard way:

THERE IS NOTHING WHITE PEOPLE CAN DO THAT WILL EVER BE ENOUGH, SO STOP TRYING AND QUIT BEING A FOOL.

As a native New Orleanian I am ashamed of this. Brad Pitt put his heart into and stuck his neck out for those residents and they just turned around and fricked him. He can probably afford the money but to have his name dragged through the mud over this is deplorable.

And he’ll vote for Biden again in 2024 and like it.

Until whites vote 95% conservative as a bloc like blacks for Dems the country will continue its fast decline down the shitter.

Bet the majority of these plaintiffs were not new to civil suits

I’d go as far to wager that a few have been involved in staged car accidents

Should have donated the money to animal shelters if you wanted to shelter animals.

each of the 107 Make It Right homeowners will be eligible to receive $25,000

So that is 2.675 million, lawyers making bank.

Its a class action suit so 40% comes off the top plus approved expenses which easily will be in the millions. These folks will get a check for $11.31, a checkbook cover made of plactic and a key chain

I didn’t read this entire thread but conceptually this is quintessential NOLA gonna NOLA: someone gives you a home, you don’t maintain it, and when something goes wrong with it, you sue them.

Everything you love about NOLA….

Hard to explain parts of good ole Louisiana to out of staters. It really is something they have to experience first hand to really appreciate. Knocks a lot of the naivety right out of them.

Why would he not have had them sign some sort of BS that said if they weren’t happy they could give it back, but the foundation wasn’t liable for a free home they received?

Surprised their lawyers weren’t better honestly. Poor building materials or not, it was basically free.

Also I don’t understand why the hell they tried to get fancy and build fancy homes. Should have just knocked out a bunch of standard shotguns and been done with it.

Again, the article says they were sold at an average price of $150k.

Is the article wrong?

Do they have any pictures of the houses now? I'd bet they are torn up in the inside.

Basically it is a combination of using "eco-friendly" materials that were never meant to be used an area with the heat and humidity of NOLA, plus the normal problems associated with prefab houses and shitty contractors.
you are missing the 3rd major reason.

This needs to happen to more white liberals who live in gated communities. Not everyone is a good person who needs a little help. Liberals don't seem to understand that.

If Brad hasn't learned by now, this is the true Louisianian experience.
