I guess. Although a lot of students live on campus or near enough to campus that they probably don’t impact traffic across the city so much.
Faculty and staff probably have much more impact. Presumably they will still be showing up at the regular time.

Driving around during LSU's spring break was amazing, like a new world.
The surface streets around campus would certainly be impacted

Not a traffic engineer, but when I worked there my daily commute wasn't affected by LSU classes being in session or not. It was affected by whether or not the area schools were though.
100% True. The Week LSU was out on Spring Break, cluterfrick all week. The next week when lsu was back in session but all the local high/lower grade schools were out, I had a nice smooth drive into Baton Rouge.

Well if this genius idea of changing LSU class times is the best they have, then i don't trust this group of dumbasses to pour water out of a boot with the instructions on the heel.
These are the types of options you shouldn’t be surprised are put on the table when raising the gas tax is out of the question.

Eveyone knows it's those damned freshmen going to their 7 am biology class that is screwing up all of BR's traffic...
Traffic on Nicholson during the morning/afternoon is terrible though.

I have to credit this lawmaker, he is at least trying to address the issue

You know what would help traffic tremendously? Enforcing simple policy on CATS and LSU bus drivers.
I can't even count how many times I have sat behind a bus that was literally stopped in the middle of the road, while another bus was stopped on the same road in the opposite direction and the two fat frick bus drivers were talking to each other through the windows probably about how to grow their bright colored fingernails longer, while piles of vehicles piled up behind them trying to get places.
Do cops not enforce laws on these fricks? They're not allowed to just stop traffic to talk about their hair-dos

Let's just cancel all classes, then those plant baws can really hammer down.
Posted on 4/24/18 at 3:34 pm to Tigeralum2008
So it would push class times even later and then affect 5pm rush hour.

Instead of improving the infrastructure around LSU it's cheaper to pass stupid laws like this one.
A truck bypass for La 30 should have been build years ago and 30 improved all the way to I-10.
An east bound entrance on 10 at Dalrymple should have initially been built and Dalrymple improved.
Lee and Nicholson corner should have been modernized.

When I run for mayor president, literally the only topic I will run on is roads.

So lets teach kids that they shouldn't wake up early and get ready for work, instead they should just come in around 10. When did LSU become Missouri?
Posted on 4/24/18 at 3:41 pm to Tigeralum2008
frick that. Think about MWF. Classes start at 7AM. So all the classes that start at 7AM, 8AM and 9AM.. All those classes would then have to be jammed in with all the classes that start at 10AM or later.
During certain semesters, if people can get early classes, that allows them to attend classes before going to work.
People would probably end up going to campus early in order to get a good parking spot, but there is already a lot of traffic on campus between 10AM-2PM, if people who schedule earlier classes would then have to be thrown in that time slot, traffic on campus would be even worse.

It's not just LSU, its:
state workers
city/parish workers
plant workers
LSU
high/middle/elementary school
Commercial traffic transiting through BR
the last one is something that exacerbates the others
BUT none of it matters as long as you have one fricking bridge across the goddamned river and only single approaches to it.
BR needs a goddamned loop, and a "flyover" through the city (double deck I-10 starting at Airline [12] and Essen [10]).

Only a matter of time before somone thinks it’s a viable solutions to solve BR traffic, by asking LSU to relocate to another city. Let’s not solve the underlying/ fundamental problem, let’s ask industry/citizens to alter their hours.

Definitely could happen by 2050.
Most of my classes at LSU we're at 7am. I loved it. I planned accordingly.
I also plan accordingly with my drive time in the professional world. Maybe BR employees could do the same. It's not rocket science.
