The Baton Rouge Police Department is down 116 Officers from the staffing levels they held a decade ago. Let that sink in for a minute.

Is it lack of applicants or lack of funds to pay the officers? Both?

I don't really shop at Whole Foods, but I do try to bring my concealed carry pistol with me everywhere since you never know when you may need it. As for car break-ins, my enclosed garage prevents all that from happening at my house anyway.

Defund the police. That will turn things around.

A decade of identity politics from woke local leadership that constantly traded in on the sins of past transgressions and villainized the profession.

The starting salary for a Baton Rouge police officer is $40,906.

These are the main culprits, in my humble opinion.

Never been in a Whole Foods but I don't let stupid signs put me at a disadvantage against the ever growing criminal element our government can't or won't protect me from.

Yeah that's a shite salary to do what they deal with.

Come deal with some of the most violent criminals in America, and we'll pay you a Costco cashier wage.

Why? That has nothing to do with it and wouldn't change the shootings from occurring. Might change the outcome if someone gets caught, but the shooting's gonna happen. You just can't be around white people these days.

To each his own, but I’ll never understand leaving your firearm in your vehicle when you’re home.

Has SFP shown up yet to insult everyone’s intelligence and remind us that, statistically, crime is waaaay down compared to the ’90s?

Well it's easier to conceal than a cane knife.

A pity since I've seen a lot of crackheads not scared by a gun... Never seen one who didn't stop begging for cash when they see the cane knife in the open truck door.

The keys are in the cupholder. My wallet is on the seat. There are currently...two guns I believe in the truck. Maybe three.

I choose to commute 45 minutes so I don't have to think about shite like that.

Unbelievably stupid take. Our country and world is screwed thanks to moronic takes like this.

Some stupid lady (Erica H) on Nextdoor says that all the crime is from stolen guns that were left in cars and the owners of those guns need to be charged for the crimes committed with the guns.
Don't laugh but many far leftists want that to be law.
