This.
There is a plan to connect the one on the other side of I-10 by the Cadillac dealership to Pecue.

They need to widen Perkins between Siegen and Pecue. That's long overdue. I figured that would have to be done before the Pecue Ln exit.
I completed this report for the LADOTD almost a decade ago... shows how slow they work.

I wish I had your optimism.

I agree with this. The short answer is that people who live in these areas very much want this to happen.

It's gonna happen. More revenue streams for St. George too

What do you think about rerouting Perkins along its old path such that instead of ending in Perkins and resuming East of the I 10 it crossed 10 on its own and travelled along the east side of 10 and reconnected to Perkins there at the amusement park lot.
That way you could use Perkins all the way to Prarieville and not have to get on Highland as it originally was designed
That makes too much sense

This really needs to happen. The entire design of that horrible shopping center blows my mind. One light to control all entry/exit, the fact that the majority of people use the 2/3 lane center road instead of the 5 lane ring road, etc.

Aren't they suppose to extend Rieger to Pecue?
Your idea is good too.

Woman's hospital has an interest in making this happen.

I’m about to close on a house in the area and I’m fully for the interchange. Not sure why anyone in the area would be against it

the properties of the neighborhood along the new pecue interchange are in favor of the interchange...it's what commercial buildings get put along their properties that's the issue (drainage, noise, light pollution, etc.). The property along the interchange is zoned everything from industrial to light commercial. RaceTrac, Dollar Store, Holiday Inn, etc. would not be favorable. Doctor's offices that close at 5 and on the weekend is more welcome. I'm sure developer will sell to highest bidder.
Another issue is that the developer doesn't have a servitude from the land along interstate to Pecue (someone else owns land fronting Pecue). So lobbying efforts are underway to get the city to tie into the subdivision to Pecue/Reiger Rd extention so developer can gain access to Pecue.

This interchange is now moving forward. Land clearing has begun and construction begins in a couple months.

I wonder if this project includes widening Picou from the interstate to Airline.

That is part of the Move BR sales tax just passed with some state money involved.
