BR Pecue Lane Exit?

Looking for some insight on this development. Is it still definitely in the plans? Timeline? How will it impact the surrounding areas? Are the local residents for or against it and what are the pros and cons? TIA
- Or did they run out of money and it will be another 5 yrs before they start pushing dirt around again for fun?

they plan on doing a study, and then it will be built in about 8 years....

Would be super clutch for people who work in Industriplex.

What will another study entail? You would think all studies would have been done and approved prior starting construction.

Would definitely help the Highland congestion

Last we heard they secured funding like a week ago. No word on any plans to move forward.

They cleared the land and did a lot of dirtwork a year ago. Now its all getting overgrown again.

The widening starts soon, should be before the end of the year. the interstate exits will come further down the line but will happen

They need to widen Perkins between Siegen and Pecue. That's long overdue. I figured that would have to be done before the Pecue Ln exit.

Agreed

I would assume they would be very much for it. I would expect property values to go up, etc. You'll get more development and quick access to the interstate in Baton Rouge is like gold.

They’ve been “working on it” for about a decade now.

What do you think about rerouting Perkins along its old path such that instead of ending in Perkins and resuming East of the I 10 it crossed 10 on its own and travelled along the east side of 10 and reconnected to Perkins there at the amusement park lot.
That way you could use Perkins all the way to Prarieville and not have to get on Highland as it originally was designed

They just got an infusion of federal dollars, so construction will restart soon if not already. I can't remember if it will be a Single Point interchange or a Divergent Diamond.

Property along Pecue near the freeway will become very valuable for office and retail.

Irrelevant. Plans for the overpass are in place, construction is underway, and there's even a proposal to fund the widening of Pecue to a 5 lane cross section.
The time to fight this would have been 5 years ago.
