I can see how it happens. Luther and junior have “ooh” sounds so it could be a slip of the tongue. And like someone else said, the potential slip could already be lingering in the back of the mind.

Jeanne graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1986. So she is around 50. Unless she has changed dramatically since high school, there is no possible way that she is racist. I knew her in HS and even went out with her a couple of times. She was/is the sweetest, most caring person despite being beautiful and popular.
