The more likely of the two

I thought it was slang

How do you accidentally call a civil rights leader a “coon”?

So fire her? Interesting way for her to end her career intentionally

Which is what I described in the second part of my post, slipping up with a wrong word. Try to keep up

Yes for all these years she’s been on TV, she was able to suppress her burning desire to say coon until now. January was always the hardest month for her, but she struggled through. Sure, her mind instantly said “coon” but through concentration she managed to utter out “King” instead...until now! 2019 is the year her instincts could no longer be suppressed.

You second option is more realistic.

Just answer what question? I said she shouldn’t be fired one page back. Do you need me to link it for you?

Do you think I’m argueing either point or something? All my post did was explain two things that could have been the reason for saying coon

Could it possibly be because the next word is "Junior" with a long 'u' sound? No possible way her tongue got tied? It just has to be racism?

Maybe white people should just say MLK and leave the full name to blacks.

haven't heard that name in years. Was smokin hot years ago. She has to be 50 or knocking on the door and still looks great.

We've seen people say it before, so I'm sure she has it in her subconscious. It's also believable with king and junior. It's called a Spoonerism.

I don't recall someone ever calling Obama a coon on the news, so I'd imagine it has more to do with king junior than their actual race.

Video on his FB page
She said coo or coon then quickly corrected herself to say King

If she did it intentionally / was trying to get away with it she wouldn’t have corrected herself
