If they have to build a new bridge on top of my house, using it as support, I would vote 100 times for it.

I don't get the train of thought here. Texas has high property taxes but I can get from friggin Addison to Custer Rd in McKinney in 15 minutes because of the DNT/SRT expansion.

Texas doesn't have state income tax.

A new toll road with a toll bridge that allows you to divert off 1-10 in West Baton Rouge or even Iberville and bypass Baton Rouge entirely that connects to 1-10 somewhere south of Baton Rouge AND continues until it connects further east to 1-12 somewhere in Livingston Parish?

Would enthusiastically pay to use.

I own 2 BR properties and I'd still be totally okay with a property tax to help fund a new bridge.

Traffic is BR's biggest issue with crime being #2. Id put up some money to fix those.

The only way this will ever come to fruition is if a competent, strong Governor got 100% behind it and was willing to spend his political capital and twist arms to make it happen.

Kind of like McKeithen did with the Superdome.

bad part is BR Metro has waited too long to do this and allows AP and LP ti grow and populate the entire areas between these 2 destinations. You will have to displace residential and commercial properties now. This should have been don 205 years ago when it was all rural fields.

It boggles my mind that people constantly harp on TX for high property taxes but continually forget there is no state income tax. Most consider it a wash.

Those high property taxes in TX go to fund amazing schools. People in TX send their kids to amazing public schools for free. People in Louisiana are forced to spend boat loads on private schools.

Taxes in Louisiana are already too high. Louisiana is ranked #28 in total tax burden, where TX is ranked #34.

Then you factor in house insurance and car insurance is way cheaper in TX, plus electricity is cheaper.

You cannot continually tax LA residents where they are forced to send their kids to private schools, have substandard roads, etc..
