No mention of DeAngelos in this thread?
Surely I’m not the only person that appreciated this place it’s first 10 years of existence?
I think the first one opened around 91 or 92 in the Hammondair??? Shopping center

Now it is Thai Kitchen.

Cipranis (spelling?) was legit one of the best Italian place in BR. I think the location hurt it a lot.

Sammy's. I moved to BR in 92 for college and Sammy's has always been a place that I frequented a lot. I heard it's opening back up as Sammy's and I saw them selling crawfish the other day. Once this bullshite is over, I'm going to check it out and see if its as good as 15 years ago.

Prytanias on George Oneal. Their onion burger was my go to growing up.

Mirror Steakhouse. Down off Tiger Bend. IIRC, they were up in NBR before that.

I saw Mark eating at Portobello's not long before he died. I know that he was always obese, but he looked ridiculously obese. Mark was a character and mostly a good guy. He did have enemies though along with the demons he battled.

The Hickory Pit on Airline near Coleman Oldsmobile had really good BBQ.

Mason's Grill used to be Don (Tuneup on Wheels) Pedigo's steak place. He and Jimmy (Stall of Faul) Faul were pals...But a place called Lou Mac's was the original restaurant in the Mason's building.

I had some dealings with him and recall meeting him at the deli near downtown. I recall when he opened up the Italian restaurant he sent the chef to Italy to train, Vincent Signorelli was his name and the only reason I recall that is he wrestled at Jesuit and was a couple of years behind me

All of these were close to LSU other than the Caterie

Lyman White’s Buffalo Wing Express
Silver Moon
Godfather’s Pizza
Pancho’s Mexican Buffett
The Caterie
Fred’s Cheese Fries
The German restaurant on Highland Road just off campus where the CVS is now. Anyone remember the name?

Solid, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Served the Jones Creek/Shenandoah area well before Coursey was built and all the fast food came.

Prytania's(sp) on G Oneal was where George's is now. Originally on that spot of land but in a building that's no longer there was a Frumbrussel's Chocolate distribution center.

Rick's Cafe American on Jones Creek/G O'neal was never my favorite food, but it was a good place to have a cocktail.

ETA: Does anyone know what was in the George's building before Prytania?

That's where one of my older friends in my neighborhood used to hang. He would switch up between that and whatever sketchy arse bar is next to that Chevron across from Ole Hammondaire.
