Anybody mention Schwabs? I think that's how it was spelled. Seafood buffet across the river. It was pretty good hangover food back in the day.

So tell me this as no one has mentioned it...

Was there a Sammy's out near Antioch area but maybe was Sammy's (some name attached to it)?

Sammy's Southern Bistro was located in the shopping center at Tiger Bend & Jones Creek. I think the Dempsey's owner was a partner but got out after not wanting the video poker machines.

Was this the place on Jefferson by Calvin's? What was the story there bc my friend and I messed with a couple girls who worked there. Never went.

Their steaks were delicious. At one time it was Buddy's & Maggio's next door in that building.

I used to like Beef O'Brady's on G O,Neal although they only served beer & wine. They did not get along at all with City Cafe.

It was owned by 2 chicks who liked each other a lot and they were also big Mississippi St. fans. Even though, they did help support LSU women's athletics with free food at events. Their BBQ was decent.

I concur, but Beef's was an easy drive home for me.

Hawk, and later Ounce, had one of BR's best bar spots in the 70s and 80s.

I went to Ounce's on Millerville twice a week in mid 2000s. He could make a seafood soup.

Anyone mention Roma Deli? Kansas City John Gaines made the best sandwiches in town(sensation salad lettuce)..forgive me Anthony, Mrs Saia, Pokey.

Mason's Grill used to be Don (Tuneup on Wheels) Pedigo's steak place. He and Jimmy (Stall of Faul) Faul were pals...But a place called Lou Mac's was the original restaurant in the Mason's building.

Great history lesson man. I remember when Pal owned it still under the Pedigo name. I drank many a beer at the big arse bar before it was destroyed. I always think about an old GF named Sherri that worked there then who died in a car wreck.
