That's how abusers work. They get their victims to justify their abusive behavior by pouring a whole lot of sugar and sweet things and then pounding the frick out of them once they are sure they have complete control over them.

My dad when I was 3 threw our tree and my mom through the front window of our house. They were divorced but he had flipped out over something. I hadn't thought about that night in years. Damn, my day is wrecked.
