This is when you give them the corporate version of frick you. "I'll take it under advisement".

Completely depends on the employer. My office dress is pretty damn casual as well. We don't go as far as to allow gym shorts and sandals but t-shirts and jeans (without holes) or khakis are just fine.

The only time that changes is when we know a client is coming in.

I couldn’t imagine being such a kunt that I would make a comment on what a coworker was wearing. I could t give less of a frick unless it was a sales environment that is customer facing. And even then it would have to affect my commission for me to care.

Sounds like you have a bitch made coworker to me.

I mean, I thought it was, but when the boss is literally telling you that you can wear gym shorts on a Friday while simultaneously wearing a jersey to work that day, I just figured that this was a more casual department to work than most and thought it was cool that I was working somewhere that was so relaxed.

Being underdressed is like smelling. Meaning if even one person thinks you’re underdressed that’s one person too many.

I had a co-worker tell me this once, I just told her "okay", and continued with my day and dressing how I wanted to dress.

When I worked in Wuhan, I didn't follow the dress code at work. I changed my ways after coming back from sick leave though.

I mean, I get why this coworker didn't think shorts were acceptable. Until my boss told me they were, I didn't expect to wear them on Friday either. But, I was just going by what my boss had said was acceptable to wear.

Dress codes are becoming more and more relaxed. Before we started working remotely, our dress code was basically non-existent.-even gym shorts were OK. Any company that wants young talent is going to be pretty tolerant if at all possible.
