That’s just the area. There is a 4K sq ft house on the course with ocean view for 22.75m. It looks like it was last updated in 1992. That’s Bobby Axelrod money.

I bet it has toilets, too. That's pretty shitty and trashy.

Does this surprise you? It's in Pebble Beach.

That’s a great area. I’ve stayed at that house. It was a rental.

I wonder if this is Jim Nantz's house that he was bragging about owning on the US Open broadcast on Saturday.

Outside this forum, there is no 2.5M estate in the entire state of Louisiana that would be preferred by 98% of the worlds educated population.

how would they allow Jim Nantz to show up on a Fox broadcast?

and i believe there are $2.5 million dollar places in every state that 98% of the world would live in. Ours are in the New Orleans area on the Lakefront and in the French Quarter

Yeah. Closer to 3000 sq ft than 2500 and on nearly an acre. Buy the land, put up a house and you could have a $10 million dollar property.

There are a lot of strict rules about building on the penisula--can't be taller than original house so you can't obstruct a neighbor's existing view. Might not be able to cut any trees. Earthquake proof.

Think of historical district rules and put them on steroids.

Being a Neil Diamond fan, it always fascinates me today that this lyric was written in 1971

L.A.'s fine, the sun shines most the time
And the feeling is "lay back"
Palm trees grow and rents are low
But you know I keep thinkin' about
Making my way back

My how times have changed

That would probably be worth $8 million in Berkeley

I'll take the Monterrey Peninsula. Excellent location, but I'd probably be relegated to Seaside....

About 90% of that is the land.

Probably tear it down and build a new place.

Exactly. if you can afford to buy the property for 2.5 mil, then you can easily afford to raze the house and build a tremendous upgrade on the land.

Cali prices are driven by politicians that keep adding more and more restrictions on building. It can take two or more years just to get approval to build and the state fees can add 25% to the cost.

And the politicians have the accidental support of a lot of folks who live there because those folks have a gun to their head. For example, imagine you bought that house in question and they relax regulation. You are stuck with a house that is worth less and you still how 2 million on a mortgage. Changing the laws to get more homes on the market could bankrupt them.

I don't know, but he was there.
On a side note, you could easily tell he was better than any broadcaster FOX had.
