You got me! The guy that had a 6 disk changer under the front seat of his 98 GMC Sierra (with the 4.3 - big mistake).

Pretty apparent you take D better than a joke.

My 8 track player in my 1969 Chevelle SS 396 played Grand Funk Railroad all day long.

Sadly, the tape got caught inside and had to cut it..."

To hell with the tape-where's the car?

I’m partial to 60 and 70 music, but that had alot to do with the fact we heard songs that were sang to music that was original but familiar.

Much of the new music sounds the same to me, but that’s just me.

I just watched a video of “While my guitar gently weeps.” With Tom Petty and others and Prince finished it up on guitar. If you haven’t seen this you should. Google it.

Eric Clapton was asked how it feels to be the greatest guitarist, he told them to ask Prince.

I’m old but I can appreciate that kind of talent.

For the last 20 years, I have a couple country songs only. The 2000-2020 period is more defined by in you face , crouch grabbing, shrieking, hateful rap. Half time Super Bowl shows are the standard.

Auto tune and electronics have hurt music. Hearing a pure voice or hearing good guitar play seems to be a lost art. Some bands still do it, but you rarely hear them.

my six disc changer in my truck

I had one of those in my 1999 Ram 1500.
Truck was broken into and CD disc changer was stolen along with a few other things.
As bad as that was, what really upset me is when I realized the SOBs took my Travis Tritt Greatest Hits CD.

A truism about music, when all you listen to from a decade is the good music, it seems that decade was awesome. When you lived through it and think back clearly, you realize all the absolute garbage music that was often popular contemporaneously.

An example I recall as an example, not from the 60s or 70s but from the 1991 AMA awards. Nominees for favorite new artists - Mariah Carey, Wilson Phillips, and Vanilla Ice. Guess who won?

Hindsight is always the best way to judge music. I doubt any decade was more than marginally better than another except maybe in the volume of whatever type or style of music you personally like.

Preach on. When guys tell me the 70's were the best decade of music they only remember the great classic rock stuff but always forget the top artists of the day.

I'm a boomer. Here's a band formed in 2013, only now making it bigtime. If you haven't heard them, and you're complaining about modern rock, you should listen. If you don't like them, so be it.
