Was helping my seasoned citizen friend, I put his app on face ID but I kept having to handle the two-factor verification when it popped up. He is unable to paste the code into the verification screen when it gets triggered, yes pitiful I know.

I asked tech support why he was getting so many verification requests and he said well after every 50 logins it will trigger. Found out he was checking his balance as many as 50 times a day. He is in no danger of being overdrawn, not even close.

So he isn't using an iphone?

Their function that pretty much auto-pulls those codes for you has been one of their better feature updates in a while.

That's what I do.

When I help someone out, I aways start a thread making fun of them, because Im insecure and a failure at life.

PS:
As a security feature, some hosted email apps wont let you copy and paste.

Maybe OP can get someone smarter to explain it to him.

It's really not pitiful. You should hope to get to his age.

It sounds like he probably shouldn't be the only one in charge of his finances anymore.

Boomers and any technology really.

As parents when their kids are younger, they are wizards of making anything and everything in life work out.

Yet somehow when they hit 50's & 60's, it's their first day on the planet every single day. Interesting generation.

That’s not a boomer issue it’s a stupidity issue.

I think my dad checks all of his stocks, account balances, and credit scores daily if not multiple times a day.

I can't figure out what exactly he thinks he's ever going to need his credit score for, or why it matters to him that it's 2 points lower on one rating system. But news addicts get bombarded with all these ads that make them think they need to be on guard every minute for fraud and credit.

It's fun when you go to the drugstore to pick up prescriptions for them and find out - multiple times - that the credit card he gave you to use has been cancelled because he saw a charge he didn't recognize and thought it was fraud.

My father in law opens his regular/operating checking account app about 762 times per day to check it.

You'll understand once you are retired.

Now that I'm retired I spend my time posting about being retired on tigerdroppings and checking my bank account.

It is a great feature but some of them only accept the first space, won't copy the rest. I always get pissed when I have to then go into my texts, remember the number and then type it in.

It is a strange thing. My mom tells me she doesn't know computers. I'm like, you taught me how to use the damn computer and used to play the Nintendo with us.

Serious question.
