At the end of the day, will you be comfortable flying in it after all of the MACS are supposedly fixed?
I’m still leery of Boeing being honest.....

As long as Charles is not in charge

If I need to get somewhere from my shitty regional airport, what choice would I have?

Yeah.
Boeing sucks, but this will be the most thoroughly approved plane ever.

I've honestly never paid attention to the plane while flying, so...

If the good people at FAA say it's ok, then who am I to question it?

I'm with you on that I never look or care anymore. Just want them to have tvs and in flight films

If it is just me on a business trip, yes.

Probably a shitty CRJ.

I would take my entire family on it before the crashes as long as the pilots were American and I was flying on an American carrier.

I'll add, not crash to that list.

MAX's aren't flying into regionals, that's ERJ and CRJ country

Never getting on that plane. They have to change the name of it without telling the public if they ever want it to be used comfortably again

I have little confidence in Boeing doing the right thing here.

Would have to understand exactly what the fix is. As of now I’m confused as to how they’ll fix the MCAS while also addressing the reasons the MCAS was installed in the first place.

I have flown on 70's era Russian planes so yeah.

That would mean starting over from scratch from my understanding. Bottom line is they “stretched” an airframe and put engines too large for said airframe thus causing it to be unstable. MCAS was created to “fix” the unstableness.

Exactly. I don’t know enough about airplanes to say one way or the other, but inescapable fact is the problem is straightforward but with no obvious solution. The “problem” with the Max (the MCAS) is actually the solution to another problem with the Max (easy to stall). So I don’t know how you fix the MCAS problem while not exacerbating the problem it was put there to solve.
At the end of the day, Boeing needs to convince more than just the FAA - there’s also every other regulatory body that needs to be convinced. And you can bet they’re going to go over everything with a fine-toothed comb. The FAA in particular will be a bitch because their very credibility is at stake.
I’ve said it before on this forum and as time passes I think more people would agree me Now (whether they admit it or not): this plane never should have been built. It’s a complete fricking mess and Boeing’s best hope is to turn it into a sort of bandaid while they roll out the true 737 NG replacement they should have been developing instead of the Max.
