Pretty sure the cop that fired his sidearm was the one who no longer had his taser. The other cop had deployed his taser which was ineffective. But you already knew that if you watched the video.

You should probably watch the video again you dumbfrick

The cop who fired his sidearm is literally chasing the guy with his own taser lmao.

Dude was passed out drunk in his car in the drive thru....there’s nothing rational about how drunk people act.

No, I get that. But if he was so irrationally fricked up, why was he so compliant for so long?

Two cops couldn’t subdue a drunk dude without killing him. That’s pretty pathetic

Well you can’t restrict airways or lay on top of suspects anymore, can’t beat them into submission what can cops do? There’s literally nothing they can do.

He was planning his escape.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he had drugs in the car as well or had warrants

One cop had already used his taser. The other cop waited to deploy his taser because I'm assuming they didn't want to hit him with multiple tasers at once. This allowed the suspect to take advantage of this and steal the other officer's taser. The suspect then fought off the officers and took off. The officer who fired his weapon was the officer who had already deployed his taser and was trying to pull the trigger again to give the suspect a second round of tase. That's why he was running with the taser up. That same officer pulled his service weapon when the suspect turned around and fired the taser at him.

Why use a taser when you can justifiably shoot him with a gun?

Once he was fired upon by the fleeing suspect, all bets are off. The fact this officer was fired for doing his job is completely insane and he will make the easiest millions of dollars of his life.

I get your shtick is to play contrarian, but keep your dumb shite to sports takes and not stuff that actually matters.

Wasn’t sure if he had fired his, thanks

The initial reporting of the story said they had tased the guy at least once with it having no affect on him.

Sidenote: If that proves true, that ain't just alcohol the guy was on.

he would have ditched the taser and not posed any threat to anyone

He drove under the influence of something (endangering others,) and went from calm and easygoing to fighting the police (who went above and beyond keeping the situation calm) in a matter of seconds.

I don’t know if he would have been a danger or not or whether it was drugs or not, he’s obviously not making good choices and letting him run off with a taser would have been a dereliction of duty.

You could just as easily make the supposition that once he fled the cops, he would have ditched the taser and not posed any threat to anyone.

Again, once you fire upon a cop, you’re fricked. If he would have kept running, he’d probably be alive. Not hard to understand.

If you wanted to script a way of ensuring you’ll get shot during a police encounter, this would be a legitimate script.

That guy 100% deserved to get shot and would be shot in 99/100 similar scenarios. If you deny that, you’re an absolute moron.

I don’t get it. The guy was super cooperative until he was being cuffed. His actions at that point don’t line up with his actions prior.

If you've ever watched "Cops", you will see that this is pretty common. People are completely fine up until the second they realize that they're going to jail and not getting out of it. Many then have a major change of demeanor.

He turns and faces the officer to point the taser at him before being shot too.

This would have never happened if he would have been at burger king, and complied.
