They have a "Cajuns Fried Chicken" buffet on Pass Rd. in Gport. Very good. Highly recommend.

Maybe this is why there was such an increased police presence this year
Sun Herald from after last year's BSB

The highest turnout of spring breakers in recent years led to a “troublesome” weekend for traffic congestion and crowd control, Biloxi Police Chief John Miller said.
An estimated 60,000 revelers showed up for the Biloxi Black Beach Weekend — a record turnout — which brought some unexpected problems in addition to heavier traffic than usual, he said. Last year, police estimated 35,000 people came out for spring break and police made a handful of arrests.
“It was probably one of the more troublesome spring breaks we’ve had in quite a few years,” Miller said of this weekend.
quote:
“There were quite a few more people, quite a few more incidents and several criminal complaints. And while we were trying to keep traffic moving, people were trying to cross the road wherever they wanted, causing drivers to slam on brakes.”
quote:
By Sunday afternoon, a group of spring breakers gathered in the Edgewater Mall parking lot and four or five of them assaulted a police officer and a security officer, police said.
A couple of shootings also were reported over the weekend — neither on the beach — and both are believed to be spring-break related, Miller said. In one shooting, two local people were wounded, police said, when two vehicles pulled next to each other about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Pass Road. The other shooting appeared to be an attempted robbery, he said.

At one point, eastbound drivers on Pass Road, where traffic was stalled going east but flowing freely west, began driving east in one of the westbound lanes.

Biloxi resident Patricia Avery said it took her four hours to get home on the beachfront from the Cowan Road intersection to her apartment complex near Edgewater Mall.
“I am devastated at how trashed the front of our complex is,” she said. “I am disgusted in the way the beach looks. The Coliseum is in complete disrepair and the streets— not only can you not drive on them, they are riddled with trash, empty food containers and bottles,” Avery said.

this is where double standards come into play in this country...white people could promote the same thing and there would be outrage. Until this stops there will always be issues
It doesn't bother me that there's a double standard. But, these people are severely limiting their experience.

You seem to be under the false impression that being black means something
It means a lot to me.
What if being white means a lot to me?
And I wanted to start a group for the advancement of white people?
Maybe we could have costumes!
Nah, I'm gonna go have a frappucino instead.

That's because they're not welcome here.

What would be the foundation and basis for your need of said group for advancement?
Did Black people buy and sell white people, rip apart white families, beat white people, for the sake of agricultural progress?
Did Black people make white people sit at the back of the busses, eat at different restaurants, drink from other fountains, use outhouses instead of real bathrooms? Many of these people who were oppressed BY ACTUAL LAWS are still alive today.
shut up with that ignorance.

That was the best part about the Burgess Owens video I was talking about. He talks about what it was like living in a legally segregated society and a bunch of 18-21 year old kids are yelling at him about how they're practically living as slaves
Their divorce from reality was impressive

Like I said in this thread or another one, I forget, but no conversation about race in this country can be had without someone bringing up sins of the past. Every time the conversation is had, slavery and or segregation gets brought up and is used as the ultimate trump card to make everyone feel bad.

Are you seriously suggesting there are very few blacks alive and in the South who were born in the 50s?
Hundreds of blacks in Baton Rouge are alive and remember being ecstatic to have a pool they could swim in b/c the awesome City Park Pool was Whites only, BY LAW. Dummy. They had to swim in DITCHES, ponds, and overflow after rains like where WBRZ is now.
Educate yourself. The Advocate article about the old swimming pool
This DVD is available to checkout from the Goodwood Main Liberry. I recommend it to anyone from BR or interested in some history here.

Hey honkeylips. I only brought it up when someone suggested White people have a group to foster the advancement of white people.
Don't you pigeon hole me, you cracka arse cracka.

That aint many, chief.
Most black folks alive today have no clue what it's like to live under forced segregation. But they seem to really enjoy self segregation.

One Facebook user posted a picture of a sign at Shaggy's restaurant said it was "welcoming spring breakers" but automatically applying an 18 percent tip on patron's bills. "Shaggy's has NEVER had an automatic-gratuity, so why choose the BLACKEST WEEKEND on the Coast," the post said.
SMART move Shaggys

Yep, they are like a horde of locusts leaving only destruction in their wake.

Well of course they didn’t feel welcome.
Unless a place literally rolls out the the red carpet and makes a huge to do about black folks being there, it’s gonna always be something to cry about
