Is one thin dime of it provided by the taxpayers? If so, it's a no for me. Every single person in that state has their hand out to uncle Sugar every day. Their wants are endless, and their amounts wanted are constantly climbing.

The amount they spend for people that should not be here to exist is mind numbing. If they choose to do so, they need to finance it. I don't live there and don't want my tax dollars going there to fund illegal activities.

It’s a private program that seems to be doing the work. SF partnered with them. Would be interesting to challenge it.

Wait, you mean actually reading the story gives you a better understanding on the subject than just flipping out over a thread title?

My mind is BLOWN.

The yahoo story gives no indication on where the funding comes from, no surprise there since they are complete trash.

The Foundation behind it has a website and it seems like it’s a public/private split although it isn’t very clear on the exact split.

Will be interesting to see play out.

welcome to your future and children's future, and young white women are to blame for the vast majority of this shite.

This is a 42 USC 1983 lawsuit slam-dunk.

If I were a San Francisco attorney, I would start advertising for pregnant white and hispanic women to sign up for this blatant violation of the 14th Amendment.

Easy money.

While you're technically right, I don't see any San Francisco based lawyer touching this.

I was kind of disgusted by this headline because I thought you were trying to shame black people or something but then I read the article and basically they are giving assistance based on what race you are which is pretty wild in 2020.

Also I don’t think there’s enough money involved for it to be worth the effort. Only 150 women are being selected

It's a study that looks at why black and pacific islander women have a higher than normal rate infant mortality rate. Nothing to see here.

So this title is completely misleading then. If its a private study does anyone really give a frick?

I don’t see where that matters.

You can’t hand out money strictly on race. Even in the college admissions lawsuits that had a least a slim argument that is wasn’t based on race. This is being promoted as the purpose.

Some expectant Black and Pacific Islander mothers in San Francisco will get $1,000 a month during their pregnancy, officials announced, as the city looks to improve a longstanding racial gap in birthing outcomes

Oh, my god. This is off the rails. Madness. Sick. Time for the revolution.
