Earth’s nearest black hole is over 30 light years away.

Where is the pink ones?

Thanks for posting, been really getting into black holes lately. They were still purely theoretical until just a few years ago.

So black holes have been proven to exist. That's news to me

I think the biggest weakness in a lot of our theories are humans' natural wish to be at the center of everything. What if we're just quarks to some larger scale?
Name check

3 pages and this hasn’t been posted yet. Ya sorry bastards.

They have. They’re not theoretical.

I thought this theory has been around?
This stuff is above my head, but the way I understand it is a black hole contains so much compacted mass, that the gravitational pull of this mass doesn’t even let light escape once it passes the event horizon I.e point of no return. Thus to us it appears as a big empty hole since no light escapes to reveal whatever is beyond the event horizon.
When a supergiant star collapses a black hole is formed. The long though theory was it continues to collapse until it reaches singularity. The white hole theory is eventually all of that compacted matter will turn into a white hole, emitting matter and light and becoming the opposite of a black hole where nothing can enter, whereas before nothing can leave.
Which actually makes sense, as it follows everything else in the universe where it is cyclical. Where there is an action there will be an equal and opposite reaction. It’s just Newtons 3rd law on a massive scale

how does something with such strong gravity, spew things away from it? seems like it would not allow anything to escape it.
It doesn’t allow anything to escape for billions of years. I think the theory is eventually it becomes so dense it’s unsustainable. A small ball of extremely dense compacted matter and energy and it just explodes and releases it all. Basically the Big Bang was a white hole event

We haven't observed white holes
We could be inside one.
Universe was nothing. A big black hole, with concentrated matter at the center.
Big Bang occurred. Universe created. We are in an ongoing white hole. The observable black holes will, over billions of years, consume all matter released from the Big Bang and process begins all over.
Just a thought

All pink on the inside?

So I guess it is possible to go back.

Well that may explain why many people who have near death experiences transition into complete darkness, which then transitions into a light “brighter than the sun”
Maybe it’s just a tunnel back home for us.
