Really struggling spending time with my mom these days. She repeats herself often, and can say some outlandish, not thought out shite. It can be awkward at least, downright embarrassing at most.

My mother will be screaming at invisible people while everyone acts normal then my wife cries about it on the way home and have to explain to toddler his grandma is sick. Then binge drink and dread doing it all over again in 4 weeks for Christmas.

46 yo coke head ex con cousin with his latest business venture he wants to get everyone involved in. And his conspiracy theories that would make Alex Jones cringe.

I don't have enough time to type out a post that would even begin to give justice.

Just my in laws and my family who get along. And football and basketball will also be on. And alcohol. I feel bad for some of you. 10 years ago I was spending it with my liberal cousins on my way to Little Rock.

We get along. We have a lot of happy drunks in our family and we don’t see each other that often

Blood is thicker than water.

Even the water of the Rio Grande.

Low key at our place. I'm thankful my wife is not picky and has pathetically low expectations...

Will just be my husband, myself, and his parents today. I'm expecting it to be super awkward cause of my MIL. Oh well...least we don't have to be there until 4 this afternoon.

Not doing Thanksgiving with my family. My dad's mental illness is really, really bad right now. He won't even drive right now cause he says he feels so bad so I'm having to stay up late every night this week to Uber my family home from work(my mom and siblings don't drive) in the evenings(they are using dial a ride to get to work). His meds were changed so just hoping they start kicking in soon so he can feel ok enough to at least drive again.

Cause of that my mom and I decided that skipping Thanksgiving was the best course. Would stress him out too much. My brother is coming from California with his gf and my new niece Sunday so we are focusing on that.

FYI
The quote comes from: “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” This actually means that blood shed in battle bonds soldiers more strongly than simple genetics. Although we commonly use it to suggest the strength of family ties, it doesn't

Going to Commander Palace then off to the dome.

My wife and I gave up to her Trump loving family that does not watch nfl football and lives in Metairie.

I'm actually sad we didn't go see family this year, either mine or hers. My family always does a kickass Thanksgiving at my godparents' house. Everyone gets along.

It's just me, wife, the kids, my dad and his wife today. I won't miss the actual driving, though.
