Thanks. It's sad when they get old and need help with basic functions.

The normal psycho drama and off color comments have been noticeably absent this year. Hell, even my mother didn’t say or do anything too embarrassing. My daughter, with borderline, made an attempt to make it all about her, but it’s easier to deal with now.

Thanksgiving was going great until my SIL crawled out of her cave to ruin it.

Has your daughter sought treatment?

A family member has it as well and it has improved a great deal

Rough condition for sure

Been in therapy and other stuff since she was in 8th grade. She’s 21 now. It hasn’t really improved. She recently got DUI number two. I’m really just waiting for the 3AM phone call to tell me she’s killed her sled somehow.

Similar situation yeah

It took a ton of different things until something finally clicked so I hope she keeps trying

Went out to my Grandparents at around 11. Grandpaw has Parkinson’s and Grandmaw has Alzheimer’s. She cooked a pizza for my toddler, forgot about it, burnt the shite out of it. (Smoke detector going off and everything) Was freaking out that my 2 year old was gonna say something horrible about it, but she ate the whole thing. Went to the in-laws next, me and my wife’s dad just get drunk and watch football while the girls go Black Friday shopping. Overall, not a bad day.

Mine was good. My mother and MIL of course had to tell us where we aren't parenting well enough...but hey...they cooked all day while the men ordered them around. So it all evened out.

I feel bad for you guys.

I went to my parents. Everyone cooked together. Steaks, Brussels sprouts, green beans, potatoes au gratin, salad appetizers.

My oldest nephew(17) brought his new girlfriend over, so we gave him a little hell.

We all settled in and watched football while asking about what was going on in each other's lives.

I have a great family that loves each other.

I'm legitimately thankful for that.

I remember when holidays were like that. And they will be again. Good times are temporary, as are bad times. That's why we should be thankful when things are good.

I used to be borderline (some say it can be cured). I went to three months of DBT five hours a day five days a week

I no longer have a drinking problem. I no longer engage in risky behaviors. I’m much better at regulating my emotions and my abandonment issues are pretty much gone. I highly recommend it

but life is much calmer these days

I don’t have any family to bitch about today. Everyone is very friendly and respectful. Maybe because there’s no drinking

But my very weird 17 year old sister wore a tiara. She told randy she sometimes wears her tiara to the grocery store to “flex” on people

We did this for her in high school with a local psych place here in Bham. Can’t remember the exact length of time, but it was half a day every day for some months. She knows what to do, just won’t. She’s always in the middle of some self destructive pitty party. This year she couldn’t be around everyone because they were drinking and she can’t. Forget the fact she works at a restaurant serving people alcohol all day.

My dad was driving less than two weeks ago. His anxiety has gripped him so bad right now he says he is dizzy and weak all the time. You can't really rationalize with him right now, everything feels like the end of the world to him. I'm hoping new meds will start kicking in soon and he can feel better and start driving them back/forth to work soon. He tends to overexaggerate his symptoms for attention so it is hard to know how he is really feeling. But if he really is dizzy....I would feel horrible making him drive and he gets in an accident.

Have his hormones checked. All of them including his estrogen.

If they're stressed him out for a long period of time (understandably) they could have wasted his adrenal glands and leaving him with an adrenal fatigue and/or with Testosterone suppression that comes with age and made worse with stress and little sleep. Cortisol levels high are not helpful.

They tried putting me on different shite for anxiety years ago and nothing worked. I basdisnt feel like living anymore. Dealing with a chronic Illness, newly married, working full-time, and taking 24 hours a semester wiped me out. The meds I was on my my UC wiped my endocrine system.

Nothing helped me, most things like ssris made shite worse. Benzos we're crap as well.

Got my hormone panel back. Got them fixed.

Brand
New
Man.

It's often overlooked when people deal with anxiety. In my case my testosterone was under 100 and my estrogen was 58. Made me anxious as frick.

Good luck.
