as someone who worked there for 3 years out of college

Frank’s wife Pardis can get fricked. That bitch is batshit fricking crazy.

^^ that is the truth

as someone who spent an unfortunate 8 months working for one of their restaurants, I wouldn’t set foot in any of them with a gun to my head. Bar none the most overrated food I’ve ever tasted. Absolutely the shitiest employees I’ve ever worked with. Even found out months later from a former employee that a manager was actively spying on me at my other job by calling regularly to see if I was working. frick that entire organization

that is absurd. The food is great, the pay is great, you got free insurance and profit-sharing benefits. Sounds more like a 'you' problem

It's definitely a challenging place to work. If you want to half-arse it, it's probably not for you.

Nothing absurd about it. 100 % truth. The vast majority of the staff at the restaurant i worked at was pretentious as frick, and beyond rude to any new employee that started there,

and as far as the fricking manager spying on me, that 100 percent true too. You see, her boyfriend was also roommates with another guy I worked with. I rant into him a few months later and he told me all about it. She would call on days were I had classes to see if I was working instead. So with 2 jobs and a full load of classes, there’s no half assing anything. I stand by what I originally said, frick that entire organization from top to bottom

Birmingham is my hometown. Highlands Bar and Grille is a good restaurant but highly over rated.

These types of "awards" are a glorified popularity contest and speak of the clout of a chef than the quality of a restaurant.

Michelin only goes to New York, LA, SF, Chicago, Las Vegas in the US, to my knowledge. Restaurants they give Stars to at least.

Well. There you go. Birmingham has a James Beard restaurant so it’s now a food Mecca.

You done did it now.

The food scene in New Orleans is somewhat overrated though, particularly on this board.

Do you disagree? I mean, look, I understand why it would be talked about on this website more so since there are so many Louisianians here, but do you not think it is overrated somewhat?

Define over rated and tell us why your feel that way.
I get that some restaurants may be overrated, but any and every restaurant magazine/website/blog/etc that is worth a damn has Nola in the top five of US cities
