What does it matter if the family can afford it? Maybe worth discussion vs tax payers having to foot the bill (dishonoring, etc.) or insureds having higher premiums bc of artificial life for all. Who knows the answer. It’s a tough call bc we aren’t to play God to make those decisions except removal of life support on the brain dead or similar.

Ok let me rephrase that. Laying there, can’t move around, so bedridden, can’t communicate, not existing. But being force fed liquid food until they can no longer swallow. Bc they choke on chewing regular food. Having diapers changed. I have to wonder if they feel fear and discomfort. Someone once told me he hoped to die by Alzheimer’s bc he won’t be aware of what’s happening. But do they know?

The problem is the slippery slope. How far is Gates talking about taking this? Just 95 year olds in hospice or people who are brain dead? Or does it go further to start killing people who are say 60 and diabetic and overweight but still have some quality of life? Not treating a 75 year old otherwise healthy guy with treatable cancer because he is retired and on Medicare? Because I’m not ok with that bullshite

This is such a stupid repeated belief
People get sick and you try to make them better. Some die and some live. When you say the money is “wasted”, we don’t know who is going to die and who is going to live before you treat them.
For example, you go to the hospital for a staph infection. We spend $100,000 trying to save you but you die. Should we not treat everyone that comes into the hospital with a staph infection. Because we save a lot of people with staph infections. But according to you that money is wasted because it would count as money in the last few months of life.

Why does this guy have a platform for anything except maybe computer operating systems? Fun fact: He doesn't even have a college degree. I heard him speak one time years ago and he was terrible.
