If the residents want the bike lane gone, they should pay to have one put in down the median all the way from Claycut to Wells. Sure there would be some roots to go around here and there, but it should be easy enough.
Why should the residents have to pay? Why should they have to pay? You ride a bike, you want the lane! YOU PAY FOR IT! The sense of entitlement from you bikers is hysterical!.
You pay for it

That's what I was thinking. Stuart Avenue is a good example of this. It has a small median but has 2 sidewalks on either side of the curb. The street in the image another poster replied with has a similar setup that would do well.

Why are the law breaking homeowners not the assholes?

I don't know how far the walk is Is it to much to move the bike lane to the left side of the street and if there is a car parked they swerve around the parked car. Its not like your blocking the tour da France. Bikers proudly display the bumper sticker "Share the road!" They need to do their part of the Sharing!
Would still be no where to park.
Those yards are huge. If it's such a big deal for homeowners, add more parking to your house.

There still aren't any "no parking" signs on the street either. And for the first few years it was just excess road and not marked for bike travel specifically.
I still contend that a reasonable compromise could have been attained already had people not gone straight to BRPD to have them ticketed.

It is a sidewalk not a SIDERIDE. When people are on a sidewalk Walkers have the right of way. Side walk and bike lane two different things! Entitlement of bikers is pathetic

well they have no reason to park on the street then if there wasn't parking there before
The street was wide enough to accommodate street parking.. It was changed to add a bike lane option.

park around the block
If you knew anything about this street you wouldnt say this.. Theres only one side street on one side of a near mile long portion and only two on the other.. Its the rare situation where parking on the street is absolutely needed

I'm not a biker, nor am I a resident of the area. However, the bikes are there now, the residents at some point screwed up and let them be installed right over their on-street parking. Legally, they are in the wrong if they park there, so if they want their parking back, come up with a solution.

Or, look at it the other way... if they want their on-street parking back, pay for it.

Mind you, arrogant bikers deserve all the shite they receive (I wish they'd stay the frick off River Road [and, BTW...stuffing your fat arse in Lycra with a helmet does not mean you are Tour de France material, douchebag]), but as long as the bike lane is there, respect it and enforce it.

Yea they chose to live here long before half you clowns on bikes decided to change the laws and install a bike lane. When they bought they didn't have to deal with this silly shite! So go install the bike lane somewhere new!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the residents asked for the lane as a traffic control measure.
Both sides of this issue have their nutjobs. As an avid cyclist in the Kenilworth area I can tell you what asses some drivers and homeowners can be. From looking right at you coming down the street and pulling out of their driveway at the last second in front of you to making u-turns right in front of you. I also see what bike commandos do. Running stop signs and the like. A real improvement would be to stop this piece-meal placement of lanes and finally come up with a series of interconnected lanes that tie in the whole parts of the city.

if the residents want on street parking, why don't they pay for it?

Will be an interesting battle with all the attorneys that live on Glenmore

well if you want to ride your bike, ride it in your own neighborhood. If you live on Glenmore, quit being a dick and go around the cars.

Now THIS would be a law I could get behind.

One side seems to have much more room than the other..
I am a big fan of bike lanes but in this case, the lane needs to be shared. This is a neighborhood first and foremost and the residents options should be paramount. Dedicated bike lanes are better suited for major streets.

Exactly. I've literally never felt unsafe riding/running/walking on Glenmore when I've had to move around a parked car or trashcan.
The street has 4 stop signs and at least 3 speed humps. There should be no issues with both sharing, IMO.
Ask residents to do their part and limit parking on the street and everyone should be fine.

This is exactly what they are trying to do. However, if bike lanes are removed, it is a step back in the process.
As I said earlier, there is a pretty simple compromise to be had here, where both parties can co-exist. Share the road. However, with the lack of leadership and aptitude for understanding the other party, I doubt anything comes to fruition.
People in this city are mostly stupid, and there are a lot of posters within this thread who fall under that category.

Now don't come in here all pumped up with logic, reason and sensibility.
