Yea they chose to live here long before half you clowns on bikes decided to change the laws and install a bike lane. When they bought they didn't have to deal with this silly shite! So go install the bike lane somewhere new!

Looking at the street on google maps I question why there is even a lane there. It is just a random street and the bike lane doesn't connect to anything. Just a random bike lane between Claycut and Woodside.
That's because the driving lane was narrowed to put in the speed humps. Then bike lanes were added a few years later.

I'd hate to have a bike lane in front of my home too. Makes having guests over difficult.

Where exactly, is this mythical Acadian Lake?
You know when it floods and acadian turns into a swimming pool between broussard and claycut?
Is it really that bad on glenmore that the residents can't park in their driveways?

Sweet..I wasn't aware we had the authority to change laws as cyclists.

I think the will of the people in the area should be respected bottom
line.
If X amount of people petition the city parish to take out bike lanes that live around the area then take it out.
If X amount who live in the area don't sign the petition then it is over the bike lane should stay.
I am not going to say they should or shouldn't it should be left up to the voters who live in that area.
Man I bet if they got a meeting soon it will be like a wwe wrestling match and fun to watch. They should put it on pay per view.
Now back to what tigerdroppings was meant to show girl trailer park fights, stupid things people do in Florida, female teaches messing with their students, and other stupid stuff.
line.

is Glenmore a major connector or is it just a blvd. in a residential area? I read in the paper that most of the riders aren't even residents. just people riding in the area because of the bike lanes.
It's actually a good cut through to get from Garden District, Goodwood and Capital Heights to Southdowns and LSU area. Glenmore leads to the Valley overpass across the interstate.

I can't help but laugh when I read about cyclists working with their local government to install bike lanes, then homeowners and their guests breaking the laws because they don't like them, then I read about how entitled the cyclists are.

Is it to much to move the bike lane to the left side of the street and if there is a car parked they swerve around the parked car. Its not like your blocking the tour da France. Bikers proudly display the bumper sticker "Share the road!" They need to do their part of the Sharing!

Kind of my take as well. Those homes were there first. If its going to be a problem, get rid of the bike lanes.

I agree, but while there are laws in place to NOT park in a bike lane, how about don't park there. But, just as the cyclists did to have the lanes installed, homeowners should work with their local government to have them removed rather than just saying, "screw those cyclists".

In short, yes.
Broussard is the only cross street of the 3 within the 1 mile stretch that could accommodate curb parking.

is that what its being used for or is it just cyclists looking for a place to ride? I side with the home owners on this one, but it would be a little easier to empathize with the cyclists if there was actually a point to riding through this area.

If the residents want the bike lane gone, they should pay to have one put in down the median all the way from Claycut to Wells. Sure there would be some roots to go around here and there, but it should be easy enough.

Wrong. Parking was allowed on the side of the street before the bike lane existed.

The majority of those living on that street have lived there many years prior to having a bike lane.
I have no sympathy for you and you give cyclists a bad reputation by acting like an a-hole. This is why people hate you.

Of course it is. Is there a better way to cross the interstate and get from the Garden District to the Southdowns area.
