My older brother got a summer job delivering phone books while he was at LSU around 1970. He used us younger brothers to help him. He would park the car at a meter and give us a penny. He would tell us under no circumstances were we to put the penny into the meter unless a meter maid or policeman was walking towards the car.
He’s still a tightwad to this day.
You know anyone cheaper than this?

My old man. Makes well over 6 figures and gives himself like a $20 allowance per week for non essential expenditures. When he retires he'll likely have a higher annual income than he does while he's working

I don't buy toilet paper. I just use hand rags and wash them after use.

My mother-in-law. I don't think she goes to the bathroom without calculating how many squares of TP she can use and not have to get into her savings acct

Know guy who has $60 million+ in his etrade account. We were at breakfast one morning and he order the 5 item breakfast but didn’t want the toast. When the waitress brought the check he caused a scene because he only ordered 4 of the 5 items. That is a tight arse

I know a guy who took his wife out for dinner on their 25th wedding anniversary.
He took her to Burger King and insisted they go dutch.

I've never known a cheap person that wasn't unhappy.

My dad.
We went to a restaurant once when we were younger. He made us (3 siblings) share one cup.

I used to check my power meter every day to make sure I did not go over my daily allotted amount of power. If I went over, I would turn everything off and just stay there in the dark.

My old boss hit $850,000 on a case and took out our law firm of 8 people out to celebrate after work at a Cuban place that was really a lunch place, no spouses allowed. The bill was $70
About a week later, he called me in his office to tell me to make sure I billed a .68 cent long distance call to a file. Otherwise the firm would have to eat the cost.
He told another associate that he could not pay him a bonus that year because the landlord unexpectedly raised the firm’s rent. He owned the building.
