I dunno, there’s a guy in another thread who tried to arm wrestle a hydraulic lathe

Same could be said for a round about, the left lane on an interstate, and boarding an airplane. It is amazing how many people can not grasp simple concepts.

The worst is at a grocery where the cart is stacked, it’s a fat old lady, and theres only a few spots. No bizness at the self checkout.
100%
Self checkout is not for a cart full of shite

I’m old, 66, and love the self checkouts.
57 and I'm more tech savvy than most people half my age. But I'm in a tech heavy business.
BTW at Sams they have that scan and go feature now on their app. Don't even have go through the checkout line to self checkout.

I don’t use self checkout, not because it’s hard, but because the cost of labor is literally built in to the price of the product i’m buying.
This guy.
Part of the appeal of self-checkout for me, besides the speed, is the lack of forced interaction with another person. Sometimes I just want to get my stuff and go, not engage in polite conversation with a cashier.

Are we related?

quote:A decade ago I had a job where due to living an hour away from the job had to leave at 3am a couple times a week. Encountered guy at a stop sign around 3:30am sitting at a stop sign texting away, oblivious even to my headlights in his rearview mirror.
I honk at people daily at green lights because they are holding up traffic starring at their phones. Did it twice this morning actually
Cellphones make people nuts. There is nothing, at 3:30am, worthwhile enough to sit in middle of nowhere, at a stop sign, with near zero traffic, texting.

I've never seen anyone having trouble at one. The only time they need help is when the machine requires input from a store employee.

I prefer to call them normies.
I do my best to avoid normies at all cost.

If I am busy locking down my OT9 booty call you can wait a damn minute.

If you were half the “playa” you claim to be in your handle, you’d have a staff of shoppers that would handle this for you, you fraudulent weasel.

Cashiers at most supermarkets are awful to deal with. I do the same, self checkout to avoid talking to them awkwardly

Who goes in a grocery store anymore?
Whole foods brings me my daily allotment of food in a vehicle that shows up at my door.
It's like I live in 2019 or something!

It’s close between the self checkout and 4 way stops.

I can’t imagine why Walmart gives the average person that much credit. There is always some idiot struggling with an atm and those aren’t nearly as complex as a self checkout
Posted on 4/6/19 at 6:26 pm to PortHudsonPlaya
What pisses me off is a line forms and the idiot in the front isn't paying attention and just stands there.

I haven’t seen a self checkout in years. Where do they still have them?

Lafayette is so fancy they don't have self checkout lines at Walmart, Lowe's, or home Depot. Eh.
