re: Biggest example of the human population being mostly idiots - Self checkout?

You've heard about people that like to put peanut butter on the roof of their dog's mouth? Sometimes I put it on the roof of my own mouth and spend time licking the peanut butter off. and also do it in front of my dog so she can see how funny it looks.

Nothing worse than someone paying cash at a self checkout using wrinkled up and sweaty dollar bills.

I wish they would make them all credit card only.

I refuse to use self-checkout. I left a 1/2 full buggy in a Winn Dixie a few months ago because they only had 1 register with a cashier, forcing most everyone to use the self-checkout. No thanks.

I am living proof of your premise. There is no self- checkout I can’t turn into a complete clusterfrick before the kindly black lady comes over looking slightly embarrassed to bail me out. Stand behind me in line and behold my cluelessness.

I never use self checkout because I always have beer or wine. Then the idiot that is stationed there to monitor 6-8 self checkouts has to come over and punch in their code and verify I’m over 21. Much easier to just load it on the belt and let them glance up at me and keep on scanning.

That sucks. Here, you just hold up the bottle and (as long as you look of age) she just hits a button at her station. Takes half a second.

Do you eat peanut butter?

Having scanned and bagged groceries as one of my first jobs means I can do the job as well as any cashier.

Having a sense of urgency and an exact idea of how I want everything arranged for minimal bags means I can do the job 1000% more to my satisfaction.

I can check out a cart full of groceries in a self-check faster than Mamaw can write a check in the regular line.

It took me a year to convince FIL and MIL to use the self checkouts at Sam’s Club and other places. They had some minor excuses for not doing it but zooming through there when crowded is awesome. Yes, there are the occasional dimwits effin things up but the assistants get them moving. I’m old, 66, and love the self checkouts.

The grocery workers don’t know how to properly bag shite. I use self checkout so I can put like things in a bag and buy the heavier stuff at the bottom/back of the cart
