Why are there fewer bigfoot sightings these days? Looks like that Crowley boy must have been high!

I heard a counter argument to the existence of Bigfoot, Nessie, etc one time that made alot of sense. The guy said these creatures are apex predators with no real threats beyond man. Due to this fact they would have flourished and you would see Bigfoot everywhere, sort of like man.
