Everyone should just show up and stay, LOL. No need for a hotel room.

Can you drink and do drugs there? If not, there's your problem.

“Cooling Shelter” only open during the coolest part of the day? Seems like there may be an ulterior motive?

City of Birmingham is also paying street performers to do their thing around the world games. I want to say it was like $50 a day. Pretty much trying to mimic all the mimes and what not you see around the quarter.

Honestly, I think every city should have a section of the city, preferably away from the more active parts of the city, where the have some top of pods for homeless to sleep in. Any groups who do anything for homeless can do it at that one location. In other words, if you are homeless that's where you have to go. They can't hang around and beg people because they can get a free meal and have a place to sleep.

You can't let homeless people be out all over in the city begging people, etc. People who are homeless for unfortunate situations eventually get themselves out. The others are mentally ill. It sucks, but its a public safety issue and this should be a priority for every city.

Perhaps they could be forced to wear some sort of marking on their clothes also to let everyone around them know to avoid them.

I'm happy with it. Make the area safer and hopefully some of the people get the help they need.
