Our company has a 1.7 rating. What I have to say has already been said many times over.

They won't change. But I will.

Both of the last two jobs I left I kept schtum about where I was going and waited 6-12 months to update LinkedIn. Granted, I was scared to death about a noncompete on the last one, but I think more and more people are taking this "don't want to say anything for fear of jinxing it" bullshite route.

In my position, my boss will want to save me. He will also want more than two weeks notice as well. He's been through a living hell of late. Had a counterpart of mine transfer to another region and his position then went vacant for four months. My boss had to fill in to cover his region and still take on the responsibilities of covering the district.

Fast forward to two months ago, another counterpart of mine made a racial post on Facebook that was seen by several people he managed (and they didn't like him) and notified our corporate leadership that if he didn't fired, they would notify the media and ACLU. Needless to say, he was gone on FMLA the very next day until he was eventually terminated. Boss is still covering for that position, although a new hire was just announced.

I plan to drop notice on the 31st or 1st and I have good knowledge that a very good friend and co-worker of mine will be doing the same around the same time frame.

We like to call it a sheet show, because that's what it is literally like working for this company.

the last "real job" i had before i got deep into programming i sold cars. I had just started doing coke. A guy in the wash bay told me he had some coke, it's slow, we go in the bathroom and do our thing.


I come in to work the next morning, in the middle of a sale at that, and the general manager comes up to me and shows me my fricking debit card, with my name on it and a good amount of coke residue on it lol. I just got in my car and left

one guy I was in the Navy with sent out an e-mail to our entire department on the day that he was separating..blasting the chain of command, explained why they're shitty leaders and how they can all go frick themselves. dude will forever be a hero in my book

I quit a company in 10 to move home and get into the family business. Little did I know the week I turned in my two week notice, they put in for annual bonuses. They actually let me keep my bonus once I left. For that reason alone, I will never burn a bridge.

I once worked for a couple weeks as a bill collector for an ambulance company. My job was to call up people who'd been taken to the ER—90% of whom were PCP and drug OD's—and try to squeeze money out of them

Anyway, I did my job high on weed, I'd smoke before work and during breaks. So instead of collecting money, I usually just chatted up the people, shot the shite, and then told them they didn't have to pay the company anything.

After a couple weeks I hand't collected a dime, so my future there was in doubt. So one day I come in toasted, call up some dude, and just started laughing my arse off during the call. I was silly fricking wasted.

I stumbled out of the office and didn't even bother to collect whatever was owed to me. That was a great job.

Last company I worked for ran into serious financial issues. Also had some bad projects that were being grossly understated. I can add, so I knew the issues were bigger than they were making them out to be. I tried everything I could to get them to bid work, try more profitable ventures, even called in some favors with industry contacts. Not interested.

We had a bond pulled right before a bid, and I was furious. Confronted my boss about it, he played it off and told me not to worry about it. All I needed to worry about was doing my job.

I had enough. Gave my notice shortly thereafter, he pulled me into the office and started this whole impassioned speech about how I didn't believe in the company, wasn't a team player, etc. I started to get upset, but just settled on "I don't think you're serious about running a business." He told me that I was mistaken, and that he'd be there for a long time.

He closed the doors to the office about 3 months later. It makes me smile every time I think about it.
