Old man retired from Exxon years ago and hired a band to play "Take This Job and Shove It" on his way out the door. True story.

If I were nearing retirement age, I'd certainly entertain this idea.

Burned one bridge, company pissed me off so bad that I took my company truck filled with expensive survey equipment and left it in the area of Houston's 3rd ward known as the bottom at 5pm on a Friday and quit by phone message.

When I left my previous job, I gave my 2 weeks noticed and then played golf until I started my new job.

The only time I've ever quit a job with no notice, the company I was working for got sold to another company, but they decided to hire most of the old employees. One of my co-workers got promoted to Supervisor of our section. My Supervisor, the Administrator, and I sat down for a meeting to make sure everyone was good with move and knew what we needed to do and I hesitantly asked how the new Supervisor was going to supervise and teach me how to do my job (I hadn't been there long) when she didn't even know how to do it. She went off, then the Administrator went off. It basically ended with me telling them they were both stupid, and racist, and that I quit.

Go on glassdoor.Com and ream them out anonymously.

This didn't happen to be in Mississippi somewhere around the early 2000s was it? This exact situation (while I'm sure it's happened at a lot of Waffle Houses) happened one time when my dad and I along with a friend and his dad were eating at one late night/early morning on the drive back from a travel ball tournament. Dude said something along the lines of frick this, I'm done with this shite, threw something, and proceeded to walk out. It was hilarious. But also kind of sucked because we hadn't gotten our food yet.

Had one of the best jobs on campus in college. Drove around vans, did mail runs, and set up conferences. It was a dream job where everyone got high as frick non-stop. But that all changed when our boss got promoted, and then Tony was hired to replace him. He was the son of a major university official, and when I saw this movie, it was barely an exageration of the dickhead who replaced my new boss: Colin Farrell in Horrible Bosses

The guy was coked out of his mind non-stop, and the biggest incompetent piece of shite that I've ever worked with even to this day. The guy lost entire orders for conferences to be set up. He was called pretty consistently from the Memphis airport when he forgot to schedule a student worker to go pick them up and had to do it himself. The guy made all of our lives a living hell and blamed all of us for his frick-ups. Within 2 months, half of us resigned. But he was always partying his dick off at the Library asking any chick within 10 feet of them if they wanted shots.

One day I'm walking into a mid-term, and then Tony calls me up. He tells me that I have to be at the Memphis airport in an hour and that I'm already 30 minutes late. Since I looked at that schedule that morning, I told Tony he's full of shite and that he simply fricked off again, not to mention even if he was right that he had my class schedule and knew he couldn't schedule a shuttle at that time for me, plus I have a midterm. The idiot then says I better drop the midterm and be there in 10 minutes, or I'm fricking fired. I tell him to "frick off you cokeheaded piece of shite, and I'm sure your boss (my former one mind you) would love to hear that I was getting fired due to going to take a mid-term."

After class I go up and talk to my former boss about it what a cokeheaded piece of shite my new manager was and that I would finish out my scheduled shuttle run just in respect of him and that I was resigning. My manager calls me around midnight to where I don't answer it, and leaves me a fricked up message asking if I'm a fricking rat. Next day at work he told me he was kidding the whole time and asked me to go talk to his boss about how good he was to me. I sarcastically told him I would, and left laughing.

Turns out my last day on the job was also his, to where he was unexpectedly going to "law school". I was going to China in a month to where it wasn't that big of a deal that I was resigning, but Tony took notice that I could speak management. He then goes on a rant with me (I was the senior employee under him under the time), that he really wasn't going to law school (shocking) and was canned for everyone just management being a bunch of assholes. He then tells me that since I can speak Mandarin that I'm going to be rich one day and asked if I would hire him one day. I just said you'd be the single last person on the planet I'd hire for any role and then walked out. I stand by that.
