Best stories when leaving an employer?

Whether intentional or not, any direct stories (cannot be hearsay or legend) that any of you would like to share?
I believe in never burning a bridge. Industries are a lot smaller than we think. The same arse that you had to kiss on your way up may be the same arse you have to kiss on your way back down.
That said, I'm preparing to exit my company and I have a feeling of elation that I haven't had in quite some time.

was working at the waffle house the summer of my 12th grade year. i fricking sucked. that shite is hard lol.

i finally catch on, but i sucked at making omelets. so whenever one came in the other cook would make it. i was alone that day and the waitress kept bitching to me about my omelets being shitty so i threw it at her, took off my apron and walked out the door

I agree to some extent. I'm confident that I can say that I will never go back to my current employer again.
Sad, because I really like the people I work with. Just don't like the company as our senior executives don't value work life balance, expect 6 + days work week, no holidays and turnover through the roof because we are all viewed as a number.
There's a part of me that would really like to speak my peace, but the industry that I am in, there is a very good chance I will run across these type of people again at another company. Taking the high road in my case will serve me well.
I'll take comfort in knowing that I am firing the company I work for.

Absolutely how I feel in this particular stage of my life. I'm anticipating a major transition and once I cross over, I'm never going back to that field.

i fricking program complex websites for a living and honestly, that is up there with one of the hardest jobs i've ever had. That shite is HARD. I worked at mc donalds for 3 years in HS and that that shite down in 2 hours. I was at waffle house for 4 months and was just then learning the lingo and how to cook all that shite at once'

absolutely true...
I once quit a company after working there for about ten years to go with another company to take a big raise, promotion, etc.
well, about two years later, the company that I had quit comes along and buys the company that I went to...
thank goodness I had left on good terms. net of it all was that I was back working around the folks that I liked, but had a much higher salary and because I had changed jobs....

I just left my company last month. Everything got super weird before I put my notice in after a former colleague called the office about my house being on the market. There were all kinds of rumors about what I was doing, but none of the management would approach me about it.
Before putting in my two weeks, I typed up a two page list of recent and ongoing projects. I gave that to my boss to help with my transition, and as an act of good faith. After avoiding me for the remainder of my time, he waited until my second to last day to sit down with me and go over the list.
That same morning my other boss popped in with her lackey to discuss my projects that her minion would need to take over. She acted completely ignorant about my plans, or even that it was my second to last day. It was so weird, because it is a small company and other people had told me about the things she had been saying.

I take it you're in sales of some degree or that plays a part in your line of business.

People are uncomfortable with straight up honesty these days it seems. We would rather play some passive aggressive song and dance rather than just get down to brass tacks and tell the honest truth. Everyone is so worried about someone else getting their feelings hurt.

I walked into a meeting with my CEO to tell him I was leaving because I no longer saw a light at the end of a long and arduous tunnel. Before I could say a word, he canned me and I walked out with a big fat severance check. I took 4 months off and really enjoyed the time with my family before starting a new gig and it was glorious.
He was very complimentary in how I took the bad news!

Not me, but I had to fire a guy because he was late for the second time. He was a good worker, but he shouldn't have been late once, much less twice in 18 months.

Leave because I felt the market declining quickly. Boss told me to wait because a new product was around the corner. Left anyway and watched the division I previously worked for get terminated within 6 months.
