re: One scam you fell for

Ashamed to admit that I fell for the SunPass scam a year or so ago. We usually take my wife’s SUV on roadtrips but this beach trip we had so much crap that we took my truck. You have to pass through the tolls and they usually send the bill in the mail a few weeks later. Well a few weeks go by and I get a text that saying you can pay your SunPass tolls online, “click here”. I figure they somehow got my number from DMV data or something. It’s Saturday morning and I’m a bit hungover so I’m thinking “ok, might as well pay this now”. Click the link, everything looked legit, put in my CC info and then got a message there was a processing error and the page went blank. I immediately knew it was a scam so I replaced my card and locked my credit.

Googled “SunPass scam” and found all sorts of news articles from Florida. SunPass claimed their systems weren’t compromised but to this day I don’t believe it. My wife didn’t get the text, just me. They must’ve had some way to know my truck was in FL, or it’s just a very odd coincidence.

Why would you apologize for posting a TMZ link?

It’s a trash website that I don’t generally visit.

I found this video of the actual touchdown, my apologies in advance for it being a TMZ link. It looks like they didn’t flare at all, just slammed into the ground. Not good
ATC recording

LiveATC.net captured it. Starts around the 16:45 mark…. you hear the controller ask Pat25 if they have the CRJ insight, unfortunately you can’t hear the response because the Blackhawk is probably on a UHF frequency, but given the controller responds “Pass behind the CRJ” I would guess the Blackhawk confirmed they did have them insight. At 17:45 you hear alarms in the background and an “ooohhh” then someone says “tower did you see that”. You can hear the intensity in his voice change from there.

Terrible situation…..but it sounds like the Blackhawk messed up.

frick I am not reading this shite anymore. Within the last hour, I was up in my attic with a flashlight and just got back in from knocking off whatever snow I could reach with my broom.

Haha, just did the same. Better safe than sorry; hopefully it works. Replacing drywall is a messy bitch, I’d rather avoid that if possible.

Camelia slow cooker recipe on their website. The key is to use good, smoked meats with it. I use Tasso, pork shank, green onion or andouille sausage, and ham; sometimes I’ll throw in leftover pulled pork. Leave the Tasso, ham, and pork shank in the entire time, throw the sausage in with about 2 hours left to go. Pull the meat off of the pork shank and discard the bones. With an hour left to go, mash some beans against the side of the pot or in a bowl to make it creamy. And gotta have Tabasco with them, it’s not my favorite hot sauce but the amount of vinegar it has goes perfect with beans.
Yep, in high school we (a few white kids) were at a black friend's house in a part of town where we were the minority. We get said friend’s older brother to ride with us and buy us beer but before we get to the store we get pulled over. “What are you white kids doing in that neighborhood?” “Why are you white kids hanging out with an older black guy?” We knew they had nothing on us and so we answered all of their questions (of course we left out the part about beer). He called for backup, we let them search the car, I bet the cop thought for sure he’d find something, but they found nothing and let us go. I asked why he pulled me over, he said I didn’t use my blinker pulling out of the neighborhood….

This one is damn good and packs a bit of heat as is; change up the pepper if you want more or less spice. I leave a jalapeño on the beef as it smokes so it’s kind of cooked into the jerky.

$100/month for family HDHP + dental; no company HSA contribution. Annual check ups are free. It’s a great plan and used to be free up until about 2 years ago. I bitched for a bit about having to pay until I came across threads like this.

Is moving something you and your family would be ok with? If no, then it’s reasonable to decline the offer(s).

I somewhat forced myself into management last year and almost backed out at the last minute. I knew I could do the technical parts of the job, pretty much had been doing it for a year since the previous manager left, but had some reservations about taking on the people/HR stuff. I just told myself that I’m doing 95% of the job already so I might as well get paid accordingly. You won’t know everything in the new job and no one expects you to, you’ll fill in the gaps as you go which is normal. I work to make money so I figured why not try to make as much as possible for the hours I put in.

I enjoy it, but don’t think it’s going to make you feel high or stoned. It’s more like that total relaxation feeling when you get off work on Friday afternoon and you have no stress.

It took me about 5 -10 minutes total. The trick is to go straight to the retention dept and bypass regular customer service. Just say “cancel” to the IVR and it should route you down that path.
Yep, had fiber installed in my neighborhood and called them saying I was canceling and switching to the fiber company. They gave me cut from $80 to $50 and a speed upgrade. The key is to get on with the retention dept, you have to select the phone options to cancel service and they will connect you with retention instead of regular customer service.

I’d recommend buying through Costco if you can because of their return policy. We got the Kirkland branded mattress that is made by Sterns and Foster (medium firmness) and liked it. The wife (no pics) wanted split king so we returned it and got the Brentwood hybrid (also medium) and like it so far. You need to give them a few weeks to break in to get an idea of the long-term feel.
“3 boys are my entire world” yet you want to take their father out of their life and scar them forever. Crazy bitch

If you look a the picture, they are in the sporting goods section. Walmart sells a marine flares. They probably released a smoke flare which triggered the sprinklers.

I heard they shot off a flare, it bounced off the ceiling, came down and caught a tire on fire.
I have the tplink deco xe75 and have had no issues. 3500sqft house with one base on each side downstairs gets us max speed upstairs and downstairs in every room.
It happened to me, the tile fell and was resting on the top of the door. I didn’t see it, but when I opened the door it scared the shite out of me. Thankfully we had extra tile so I cut a new piece and reapplied it; haven’t had an issue after that.
Those aren’t fireworks, just carryover noise from Orleans parish
