This little-big town of roughly 10,000 offers great schools, playgrounds and parks. Downtown is full of local shops and restaurants and historic buildings, and there are dozens of suburbs that are great for kids. I personally grew up in downtown Covington and wouldn’t change a thing!

Covington is awesome! But not sure what they mean by “dozens of suburbs.” In all reality, it is itself a suburb of Nola... especially nowadays.

Literally nothing. Pineville/Tioga/Ball are all awful. Alexandria is also a hell hole.

I could see Natchitoches, Covington and maybe St Francisville. I left La in 1988, so maybe things changed. I just remember those towns were dumps growing up.

Minden was great to grow up in. They have a St Jude Auction that brings in a lot of money.

Hate on it all you want but Slidell in the 90s was the shite. Smallish town, big yards, woods everywhere and 40 mins for NOLA.

The person who wrote this is a complete dumbass and clearly has never been to half of these towns. Ville Platte is a complete train wreck. If Cameron goes under, that town might literally become a ghost town.

Also that photo they’re using to represent Ville Platte is of the cabins at Chicot State Park, which is a good 12 miles from the town of Ville Platte so not Ville Platte at all.
