Don’t they have a kid that identifies as a cat going to school there and they are letting it do that openly?

So many people on this board apparently cannot read, or understand maps and directions.

OP says "South MS close to LA border between 55 and 59".

OT respondents: "Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian", none of which are between I-55 and I-59, and "Bogalusa", which is IN Louisiana.

Sheesh...

Hattiesburg is awesome. I’d recommend the sumrall school district. The Oak Grove district is experiencing difficulties from the apartments built in the area after Katrina. If ya know what I mean

Overall, I’d be hard pressed to tell you a better place to live in Miss/LA while raising children.

ETA: I could give Ocean Springs or Fairhope, but the cost of living difference is significant

Walthall County is dry so no way.
Columbia at least has a few restaurants and bars.

It’s probably best to just not.

Because if a whole lot of people do this, it ruins it for us.

I don’t recommend anywhere here. It’s turrible.

Bummer, my condolences.

Could not imagine being forced to live in Mississippi.

Think hard about Medical care and Hospitals before you consider moving to South or Southwest Mississippi.

Looks like Columbia, Picayune, and Purvis are the only answers. Could probably buy a mansion on a farm for what you could get an 1800 sq ft house in old town BSL.

Just bought 22 acres in Bogue Chitto. I don't need schools unless my daughter follows us for the grandkids. The West Lincoln school looks like a private school. I can't wait to move there. Will be another 2-3 years.

Hattiesburg has been a very underrated place to live for like 20 years now. Nice college town with good restaurants, nice golf courses, and everything you need not that far away and close by.

My senior has decided to go to Southern Miss next year. I’m very excited about the decision. I think it’s a good school, the Hattiesburg area is nice, and it’s close to home (2 1/2 hours away).

Hattiesburg seems cool, only an hour and fifteen from us. Of course, my Jr decided this week to go to college in Fayetteville. 9.5 hours is just too damn far to drive regularly.
