Just buy a tux from Jos a Bank or somewhere similar. assuming you will need one once a year or so for mardi gras balls it definitely worth the investment to have one.

then go buy yourself a decent navy suit from dillards. grey/charcoal would also be acceptable, but I prefer navy for a go to suit.

Definitely Popes. Where all the Shreveport ballers go. There or John Pickens.

go to penny's and get a cheap tux. been wearing mine for years. if you go to a few balls, it will certainly be worth it. you won't get a ton of use out of a black suit. and i definitely wouldn't go to mardi gras ball in a navy or gray suit.

Yeah that was my line of thinking. I really want a grey or navy one but that would look weird at a Mardi Gras ball lol what kind of price am I looking at for a cheap tux?

You will look weird no matter what if you wear a suit to a Mardi Gras ball. Buy a navy or charcoal suit because everyone should have one and rent a damn tux if you can't afford to buy one. You wear a tux to a Mardi Gras ball.

Buy a tux. Then change your life so you can use it more often.

Picked up 2 Calvin Klein suits at Burlington for $300. They also had a black Tux mixed in there.

Haha yeah because there are so many instances that a tux is required.

That sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for. Pretty good size selection?

Well you've gotten by for quite a while without a suit, so maybe you're right

SP, I'm trying to avoid renting because that's just a waste of money IMO.

I'm 22, I haven't needed one. As I get older and my professional career develops a suit will be necessary. You don't wear tux 's to business meetings lol

You can buy a used tux or black suit from Men's Warehouse or any other rental place. Don't spend much more than a hundred if you're only going to wear it once or twice a year for drunk parties.

In the suits they did, there was just the 1 tux mixed in there.

You can buy a tux for around $80.00 if you look online. Some things cost a certain amount of money. Going to a Mardi Gras ball requires a tux. Its just how things are.

BTW, have you talked to your date about this idea? Most women will have very strong opinions about whether you should wear a tux or not.
