This is certainly going to have a large influence on sporting events, and events in general and well it should. For a city that is fueled by tourism and events, to allow this shite to go on is absolute economic suicide, but then the leadership people put in office have never been known as the smartest cookies, nor their constituents. This is found all over this area of the country. Dumb is the pandemic that plagues us all. They would rather talk about a high speed rail system to infrastructures that cannot support it than to actually do something about the 800 lb gorilla in the room, which is crime, trash, and the quality of life that sucks balls.

I really think the Northshore would get behind a baseball team, but basketball? I seriously doubt it.
Baseball isn't happening in Louisiana unless the state really finds its economic footing and the BR-NOLA-Northshore area explodes in growth and sort of merge into one giant region.
I could see the Saints moving to a new, larger stadium along I-12 though.

Where's the link that says the league is watching crime stats in NO?

“We have reached out to the mayor’s office and the NOPD,” Bensel said. “We are now on the radar of the NFL and NBA because of this.”
The Pelicans’ success this season and the potential for post-season play has the NBA on notice.
That was after the Rockets game last Wednesday. Yesterday, Cassie Schirm from WDSU was pretty descriptive of what went down around the Dome yesterday. So looks like NOPD is really interested in doing shite.

Many people on here would have you believe that the centuries old French quarter w/ intact original architecture is actually a worthless dump and should be leveled.

You are literally obsessed with moving both teams. It’s really bizarre and fascinating.

San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the US and the largest without a team. New Orleans is now the 53rd largest city.
Main factor the NFL cares about.

You know, Fun Bunch, you and me clashed a few times last year on Pels Talk as my Zion frustration was boiling over. I honestly didn't think he would suit up again for us but I was wrong. I've also railed on both Saints Talk and Pels Talk about relocation and I understand that it looks like I have a weird obsession about this, but like my Zion irritation, I genuinely hope I'm wrong on all that as well.
I have loved this state and I love New Orleans and Baton Rouge. My company has offices in BR, NO and Lafayette that I've personally been involved in establishing and growing. I've spent many, MANY weeks all over South LA helping to grow our business from Texas to Mississippi and it's a lot of work. I also love rocking my Pels and Saints gear when I'm out of town, and talk to people about Louisiana and what an amazing and unique place it is.
But we have to do something and it has to be drastic and it has to be right now. I'm losing recruits to Houston and other cities every day and it's disheartening. I'm watching a lot of my company's partners grow their businesses in other southern states like Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, etc and it's killing me seeing them shrink resources here to put them elsewhere. These are people that are dyed-in-the-wool NOLA and Louisiana and they're just telling it like it is. It's making less financial sense to keep trying to grow here when there's sister cities that are so much more receptive and it pisses me off.
I'm fricking mad. I don't understand why we elect retards here and we let people run things like shite. My push for this information may seem like I'm just stacking the deck against what we have here, but I'm telling you - my entire motivation is geared to wake people up before it's too late.
That's why I do it.
There's still a lot of good here but people need to put pressure on people who can make the changes. I know I'm a major debbie downer but I guess that's just my way. I'll try to make it seem a little more positive but we're running out of time.

Still not a link of the NFL saying this... It's Greg Bensel making a statement.

Main factor the NFL cares about.
The "market" for the Saints is most of Louisiana, most of Mississippi, along with a lot of S. Alabama and the panhandle portion of Florida.
A San Antonio team would mostly be tapping into existing NFL markets.
If New Orleans can hold onto some viability as a city, it still makes probably the most economic sense as the home to the Saints from a market standpoint.

Lol the nfl doesn’t want the saints to move. New Orleans is one of the top 3 small markets, if not the top, depending on how you classify Green Bay. You are totally clueless

The main factor the NFL cares about is making owners money, which is why you’re high if you think Jerry Jones and The McNairs are allowing another team in Texas.

Main factor for the networks who pay the multi billion contracts to televise and stream. The pressure will continue to mount led by the Crusaders here to get these teams out.

When San Antonio builds a new stadium, let me know. Until then, the saints aren’t moving to San Antonio to play in the fricking Alamo dome
until then, there is zero commitment from that city to pull an NFL team.

Yeah I’m sure Bessel is just making this up, just like you probably think the busted windows, murders, and stolen trucks are fake as well.

You actually think the NFL gives two fricks about windows getting busted out and cars stolen?
Chicago's murder rate is 3x's higher than New Orleans... No one is saying anything about the NFL concerns over that.
