New Orleans peers in murders are Tijuana and Juarez now, we've long passed Chicago.

Yeah the Pels aren't what I think are going to move. If they do, it won't be locally. They might want a massive upgrade over the Smoothie King center eventually, but they can go to the UNO Lakefront or even up to the PMAC for a year or so while that renovation happens.

I could definitely see the Saints demanding an upgrade and an eventual move to the north shore somewhere.

I doubt they go to the north shore. To far away from the city center (and it's not like NO is a sprawling metro like DFW). I could see maybe meterie if they buy hte baseball stadium.

Yeah the more I think about this. If professional sports leaves New Orleans it is doomed.
Their only hope is what I have been saying for a long time.
New Orleans should become more like Amsterdam.
Go ahead and have a zone. (The French quarter possibly sex, alcohol, and drugs but regulate it and get money for it.
Go all in on becoming that.Normal people still go to Amsterdam as a tourist destination even though they do not participate in the other stuff.

Why do so many people hate the Pelicans?

Northshore. Can you imagine the awesome game day atmosphere at all the strip malls?

The Pels don’t have the longevity here to have the area emotional pull the Saints enjoy.

Most here critical of the sports teams dislike the city, and seeing the sports teams leave would validate our political views being correct.

It says a lot that you could look at any other major sports teams fan message boards and only NOLA boards have a significant percentage of their fans wanting or warning their team it needs to move. This isn’t healthy and likely a precursor of the future move.

The saints are in the progress of a $650 million renovation of the dome

Some of you people don't live in reality.

The overwhelming majority of the people telling the pelicans to move are not Pelicans fans

In fact, the overwhelming majority of the people telling the pelicans to move hate the NBA

I could see the state taxing the Northshore to build the stadium.

Or the Causeway backed up 2 days prior to a game.

Lol the nfl doesn’t want the saints to move. New Orleans is one of the top 3 small markets, if not the top, depending on how you classify Green Bay. You are totally clueless

This thread is great.

New Orleans has hosted the second most super bowls in NFL history (hosting again in 2025), third most finals fours (hosted last year) and third most NBA all star games (last hosted in 2017 as a replacement - so hand picked at the last second by the NBA).

Professional leagues love having professional teams in New Orleans.

Sorry your friend (not you lester) who moved to Covington because his pal in the garden district knew someone who got their car broken into hates downtown new orleans.
